If it stays as it is then Lyon will be on 7, Fiorentina on 6 and them on 4. They've only got one home game, against Fiorentina, and have to go to Lyon and Debrecen.

The teams who win the league rarely lose more than four or five games these days. If Liverpool lose on Sunday that will be five defeats, surely too many at this stage of the season to turn it around. Saying that if they win it will put big pressure on the Rags not to lose more than 2/3 games themselves.

Meanwhile we have keep avoiding another defeat for as long as possible - which is why avoiding defeat at Villa and Wigan (unlike Chelsea) was so important.

We probably aren't good enough to win it but why not aim to stay in the mix for as long as possible?
