People are getting hysterical for no reason. Only really cut the one player in Caicedo. Johnson won't (ever) be fit, and I imagine one of Santa Cruz or Jo will be sold or loaned soon.

Everyone that is currently on our book:

Keepers:
1- David Gonzales (COL)
2- Shay Given (IRL)
3- Joe Hart (ENG)
4- Gunnar Nilseen (FAR)
5- Stuart Taylor (ENG)

In my opinion we would only need 2 goalkeepers, so I don’t understand why Taylor was offered a contract extension. Not sure where Gonzales fits as he isn't young and isn't going to be given a game so may need to be moved on. Nielsen has already been loaned out.

So on the list:
1- Given
2- Hart
3- Taylor

Defenders:
6- Aleksandar Kolarov (SERB)
7- Dedryck Boyata (BEL)
8- Greg Cunningham (IRE)
9- Javan Vidal (ENG)
10- Jerome Boateng (GER)
11- Joleon Lescott (ENG)
12- Wayne Bridge (ENG)
13- Shaleum Logan (ENG)
14-Nedum Onuoha (ENG)
15- Micah Richards (ENG)
16- Kolo Toure (CIV)
17- Pablo Zabaleta (ARG)

Logan has passed 21 this year so should probably be either loaned out or released. Cunnigham, Boyata and Vidal are U21. Onuoha seems to have burnt some bridges and his lack of appearances in the friendlies suggests he may be on the move. So the players on the list would be:

4- Kolarov
5- Boateng
6- Lescott
7- Bridge
8- Richards
9- Kolo
10- Zab

Midfielders:
18- Abdisalam Ibrahim (NOR)
19- Adam Johnson (ENG)
20- David Silva (ESP)
21- Gareth Barry (ENG)
22- Patrick Vieira (FRA)
23- Yaya Toure (CIV)
24- Nigel de Jong (NED)
25- Kelvin Etuhu (NGR)
26- Stephen Ireland (IRL)
27- Michael Johnson (ENG)
28- Vincent Kompany (BEL)
29- Vladimir Weiss (SVK)
30- Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)

Ibrahim and Weiss are U21, Etuhu's future is unclear especially after the recent assault allegations. Either way he probably isn't in Mancini's plans. M. Johnson isn't going to be fit until next window and would probably be loaned out then to see if he has regressed due to the length of the injury. So the people on the list would be:

11- A. Johnson
12- Silva
13- Barry
14- Vieira
15- Yaya
16- De John
17- Ireland
18- Kompany
19- SWP

Forwards:
31- Emmanuel Adebayor (TGO)
32- Craig Bellamy (WAL)
33- Felipe Caicedo (ECU)
34- Jô (BRA)
35- Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely (ENG)
36- Robinho (BRA)
37- Roque Santa Cruz (PRY)
38- Carlos Tevez (ARG)

Ade and Carlos are the only ones that are set to stay. Nimely and Guidetti would play a role as u21 players. From the length of appearances during preseason friendlies, it seems likely that Jo will play a role in the coming season. Felipe unfortunately may miss out due to being just over 21 and lacking the talent required to get ahead of the other players on the list.

20- Adebayor
21- Tevez
22- Robinho
23- Jo
24- Bellamy
25- Santa Cruze

Likely to join:

39- James Milner
40- Mario Balotelli
41- Gai Assulin

Milner seems to be involved in a swap for Ireland, if so he will simply take his place, or alternatively, one of the forwards may have to make way if not. The other two are u21 and by next year they can take the places of the likes of Bellamy and Vieira.

So the players we have to get rid are : Gonzales, Logan, Onuoha, Etuhu and Caicedo.
