I'd love to see an attacking midfielder who is genuinely versatile across 'the attacking three' in a 4-2-3-1. Like Muller or Reus - that type of player not necessarily one of those two. Hard working like Milner but with the extra quality.

Jovetic is the most likely to come in the summer (if he wants to come that´s) and I expect Txiki/Mancini to find relatively cheap quality players such as Nasty. I also expect a few EDS players to step up such as Rekik, Guidetti and possibly Suarez.
Our wagebill and FFP is something we have to consider, hence the cheaper options.Jack Wills said:nehe11 said:Most of the players we would like too see would cost to much I´m afraid, can´t see us trigger Cavanis release clause, neither can I see us paying 40-50 mill for Bale or Falcao for that matter.

Christ that's bloody depressing! I seriously hope our board don't think like this or we can kiss goodbye to many more titles and definitely write off winning the CL for a good few years.
We can't afford not spend big in my opinion. We're seeing this season what happens when we let rivals strengthen, if we keep doing this we'll fall furtehr behind and waste all the money and hard work that's already gone into the club. I'm pretty sure Shiekh Mansour would like to see more of a return than one cup and one title then back to just competing for 4th place.

one other area we need to improve is midfield. That was badly exposed in UCL. Someone like Fernandinho would be good. I'm not sure if keeping the midfield the same is wise.city91 said:Out:

Lescott
Barry or Milner
Kolarov
The reason I reckon Lescott and Barry or Milner will go is because they are big earners who can be replaced with younger prospects on half of their wage.
Selling these players would raise around 40 million minimum and free the wage bill by close to 1 million a week including Balotelli's wage.
In:
A new striker- Falcao or Cavani would fit the bill around £150k a week
Winger/forward- Jovetic around £120k
Midfield - someone young with potential like Will Hughes or Hendrick (his Derby team, who I've heard were keeping an eye on) around £30k a week
Defence - an experienced defender like Carvalho or someone else with big game experience. Who can help Nasty and Rekik out and would be on lower wages than Lescott. And Luke Shaw. Around £60k and £30k.
Goalkeeper - someone to push Joe for the number one shirt. Possibly someone from LaLiga. Around £25k
Wage bill would be around £415k a week for these players which would shed over half a mil a week of the wage bill.
Team for next season:
Hart, Pantillimon, New GK
Zab, Micah, Nasty, Vinny, Rekik, New CB, Clichy, Shaw
Sinclair, Milner, Hughes, Rodwell, Garcia, Yaya, Nasri, Silva
Jovetic, Aguero, Falcao, Guidetti
That team looks impressive with a lot of youth involved.

Oh,to dream.......
your striker lineup would not exactly solve that. Aguero and Cavani/Falcao would demand to start every game. Jovetic would not be very happy with a bench role, although Guidetti probably would. Maybe we will sell Dzeko and Tevez and get Cavani and go with three strikers next season. However, we get one more AM perhaps and this means we can play with just 1 striker so the position would not be as thin.city91 said:NoahCity said:one other area we need to improve is midfield. Totally agree however I think the fact that we had 4 top strikers who all wanted first team football meant that we played 2 strikers every game.
If we had that forward line it would mean we could play with 1 striker and have have a more compact midfield for UCL games.
You may not be Nasri's biggest fan but you can't be serious...Tevez City said:Taarabt is better addition than Sinclair.
Ben Arfa is better than Nasri.
