Arrys ..... It was hilarious ....blame the press blame the press ....says the media whore

I thought that was hilarious. Blaming the press, when he works in the press himself.

It has to be Arsene's though. Geoff Shreeves made him look like an idiot. Arsenal do not need to buy players apparently. They have a good team. Does Arsene know the score was 8-2?

Look at who was missing, Spurs could only say that Sandro would have made the starting 11 from who was injured, the gooners had no, wilshire, gervinho, sagna, gibbs, vermarlen, song, or frimpong. Are blowout was the better and even Neville alluded to this when commenting on where the title race goes from here.

It wasn't just who was missing from their squad as it stands unfortunately for them. I don't think other fans realise just how much Fabregas did for Arsenal, or just how good he actually was. Nasri and Clichy were losses no team wants to suffer, but Fabregas leaving is akin to us loosing Silva x about 12. Or loosing Tevez in the season we got to within a game of 4th place. It's no surprise at all that's he seems to have slotted straight into Barca like he never left.

Arsenal are not going to buy someone this transfer window to replace Fabregas. They could get a replacement for Clichy or Nasri if they're willing to spend enough money, but they absolutely will not find someone of Fabregas' quality available and ready to go for this season. They may be very fortunate in Wilshere being able to step it up along with Ramsey but that's a huge ask even for him. They need to buy 5 players and that's just to stand still on last season, or more likely end up worse. Really is very dark days at the Emirates. Real shame too because I'm going to fucking loathe seeing the red dippers take their CL spot.

I think, given the injury/suspension/confidence situation most people expected a mauling of Arsenal today, and albeit not to that extent.

Whereas few would have predicted Spurs being turned over like that.

In short, ours was more impressive.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to see either game, however I was listening to 606 to get the result, when I heard a rag come on full of it, how it was the greatest team performance in the history of the premier league, only to be told by Robbie Savage that City's performance was every bit as good if not better in his opinion, says it all for me, cant wait for MOTD. I really hate spurs, but that's another story!

We're so good, it's ridculous. So are the twats But that's the worst Arsenal team in an age and we did it away from home.

I will say this;the rags demolition of arsenal could be the best thing to happen for us.There are severe shortcomings in their midfield being masked at the moment by a combination of lightening fast wing play and Rooney playing in the hole. Not to mention De Gay who is atrocious.

The fact they've had arsenal and spuds roll over and they scraped a win vs west brom will have them sitting smug. They likely wont reinforce, and come mid Nov this could come back to haunt them.
i agree with this, their squad looks very thin to me, when the champions league kicks in and we're all playing twice a week we will be in much better shape to deal with it. hopefully they will suffer..............................a lot

They've more or less have a bye in the champions league group. They can play all their bench players, Carrick, Berbatov etc, and they'll still walk it

They were pretty equal. Spurs didn't give up like Arsenal did at the end. Ashley Young had a couple great goals for the rags. Being away probably gives our performance a bit of an edge, though...but it's clear who (in the early days) the top 2 sides in the league are.

Top 3. Don't forget Chelsea. They will be there at the end. going to be a very tight fight for the top three.

Adults spell it De Gea.

Absolutely not critisising in any way, we were awesome today and I am extatic at the win and performance but why did we play keep ball for 15 minutes instead of being ruthless and getting a few more goals.

no other team will go to spurs and win 5-1 this season or probably for the next four or five years, rags played well today but arsenal looked very very poor and they were weakened a lot arsenal today.i still feel de gea will be a weak link for them as well as there defence.fuck em anyway its our time and year i can feel it!

De Gea let in a soft soft goal, Van Persie's penalty was the tamest you could get, and I don't think Arsenal had a single defender on the pitch today. Much more impressive win for City on the road to a Tottenham team that at least tried.

City. Spurs had an almost full side there. Arsenal's players looked like loanees!

Nasri is a prophet! Good choice lad!

Both great in their own right.

Ours was a comprehensive destruction of a full strength Tottenham team away from home.

Theirs was an even more comprehensive destruction but against an extremely under strength Arsenal at home.

I liked ours best though ;)

First off,

Congratulations on todays performance

And I'm not trying to take a shine off things but it wasn't a full strength side.

King and Gallas are our first choice centre backs. Modric and Sandro are our first choice midfielders, one of which is injured, and the other one is asking not to play as his head isn't right. Ah the pressure of getting paid over 60k a week to play a game, sympathy all round for that one. And I'd also say that Ade is now our first choice striker and he was unavailable.

I'm not saying we had the U18's out, and the team that we did put out should have performed much better than they did but were thouroughly out-classed, but to call it a "full strength Tottenham team" is not the entire story.

Lets hope it will be more of a competition up at your end.

In fairness to Arry I do feel sorry for him. Putting the issue of Modric' professionalism to one side momentarily it does not seem fair that a potential suitor can have more influence over a player than the club that pays his wages.

Was Tevez non show today a similar sign that he is off this week? it has been played out in the press in recent days that his family are here, he is happy again blah blah blah but I m not convinced and had we not such an extravagance of talent at our disposal today we might have been rueing outside influences on a Tevez no-show.

The transfer situation needs to change. The window should close worldwide on July 31st and we should not be faced with a stupid situation whereby we have to name our 25 man after 3 league games, that is preposterous albeit the case.

Anyway, great result and onwards and upwards from here boys. Bring on the Wigan!

Any one got a link to arrys interview not seen it?

I actually felt a little sorry for wenger i thought he looked like he was going to punch geoff but then i remember all the things he says about us and then thought do one loser.

I did, think Fergie did as well. I don't like Wenger for all of his legendary I didn't see it bullshit but have a lot of respect for some of the players he has brought in to grace the English game. I found it sad to see how poor Arsenal were today.

That interview was just a pure wind up about him being sacked, not surprised he just fucked off out of it.

-- Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:34 am --

Thought this myself when VDV went off injured and then I think Savic was brought on for Aguero or it might have been before that. Just thought it at the time, it's being supremely critical but if goals come into it at the end of the season you never know. Really don't want to criticise though because i've waited a long time to see us go to Spurs and do that to them as has everyone else.

Redknapp complaining about other managers unsettling his players? Wonders never cease. Would love to see AVB or someone else mention that "Modric is Triffick player, but I believe that City have already agreed fee that will blow you out of water"

No contest, Spurs were at home at their strongest(unlike at united) and Arsenal were beaten before they went on the pitch, they were awful. City's football was fantastic whereas united just pumped it forward and Arsenal defence capitulated.

If I were a United fan I would be more concerned that a team as poor as that scored two goals against and cut them open at will, if they hadn't have been as shite as they were united were there for the taking.

Phil Jones looked shaky and Van de Gea again cocked up.

City on the other hand passed and moved, playing fantastic football from start to finish with a much more solid looking defence. True football fans know who looked better today, in fact City were as close to Barcelona as I've ever seen a Premier League team be and it's great!!

I have to admit I laughed at that.
