Who's had the vaccination?

My Dad 87 heart bypass and kidney issues has his for next Saturday Mum 84 who took the call asked about hers and was told this practice first cut is 85+ with issues. Mother in law 81 severe COPD has heard nothing. Daughter A and E was due to have hers last Thurs at work but was cancelled at last min as they were running 2 hours behind. Given the change in interval would assume if you don't get it in next 12 weeks likely to be waiting another 12 whilst first wave get their second dose unless there is a capacity increase.
i thought the plan was to give everyone the first dose and have a wider interval until second doses start...
although your point is linked to capacity or supply issues ?

Yes so if the gap is 12 weeks first group are injected 1st jab over the first 12 weeks then the next 12 weeks is fully booked for those to receive 2nd jab leaving minimal capacity available for 1st jabs.

I would guess the idea is for the 9 groups in phase 1 to get first jab in 12 weeks then second in the following 12 weeks, so the overall time taken for the 9 groups is the same as it would have been with 3 week gaps.
Then after the 24 weeks., from July start on first jabs for the phase 2 groups.

My dad (85) had it last Monday, one of the first in Stockport to do so. Think it’s linked to a visit to A&E a couple of weeks earlier.

My mum (73) was in a vaccination programme, so there’s a 50/50 chance she has.

So quite fortunate, really.
Good stuff for your Dad.
My Dad is in Stockport too, and over 80, but not had it nor any messages about it. Father in law has had it though - same age bracket but has cancer. He had his first vaccine pre Xmas, and is due his second early January, though I’m guessing that may be put back to 12 weeks now.

2nd group will not be able to get jabs weeks 13 to 24 as first group will be getting their second jab unless the infrastructure to stick into arms increases at this point.

No, but with the 3 week gap it was still the same. The first group is about 20 million so either way giving the 20 million one jag and then giving all 20 million the second is 40 million doses, same as working through them at a 3 week interval is 40 million.
Only difference is more get the first one quicker. It was never intended to start phase 2 until all of phase 1, the 9 groups , had had both doses.
24 weeks takes us to about June for all 9 groups to be done same as before. Then from June move onto phase 2, which at 2 million / week should take less time than phase one.
