Who's Mancini & co scouting then ?

Wouldn't the managerial and coaching staff's time, the day before a match, be better spent with the players?

If it was a Saturday match, the players and manager would be together on the Friday, wouldn't they?

The fact they're not leads me to suspect that this is more than just a day out with the lads watching a match...

-- Sun Aug 14, 2011 3:48 pm --

I doubt it. Sturridge was fairly anonymous today...

that shawcross could be a good signing...

I'm surprised you like him Mancio, for me he's a typical English centre-half - big on physicality and 'heart' but little composure on the ball or technical ability. I wouldn't swap him for Savic.

Agree - Mancini wants players whom are comfortable on the ball - one of the reasons Lescott got a hard time at the begining when Bobby first took over - his ability to bring the ball out of defence was somewhat limited which resuted in the inevitable hoof

We have our centre back and unless a younger vidic or terry comes along i think we should hold with what we have got

Just my opinion, a winger possibly. Etherington, Pennant or maybe Warters (sp). Unlikely to just be taking in a game with fixtures 3 to 4 months away.

oh you do have a sense of humour

I wish!

Just putting my own logic to the situation as it stands. I can't see a Chelsea player we would realistically be looking at or that they would sell to us and can't understand why we would need to scout them. I can't see it being a keeper or any of the defenders and with Mancini saying that he is after another midfielder or a winger, my logic says it could possibly be a winger. Penenat and Etherington were playing there today. Warters spent a bit of time last season doing well coming in from the wing and scoring a few goals in the process. I am not saying I would sign any of them, just trying to explain why he might be at the Britannia.
