Why Are We So Much Better Than Last Year?

Fernandinho is in the form of his life. Ditto Otamendi. Ederson and Walker are huge upgrades. The SJS have also really settled in.

Plus, everyone is playing better tactically and working harder.

Give them both contract extensions...

As technical as you can get, its really simple.

The press constantly batter out the same fake news of; city were the same last year, won the opening 10 etc, then failed after a test away to spurs

Albeit the real truth is we limped to decent wins at the start of last season, usually due to one outstanding player producing some class or us just being better anyway Pep or not.

We then walk into said spurs game with the following players in the 11:
Bravo, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Fernando, Navas.
Iheanacho was also a USED sub.
Sagna, Willy, Clichy and Garcia were amongst the unused subs.

All have left as theyre simply not good enough anymore for the level we aspired to be; and have in turn reached. With the exception of Bravo whos now demoted to second choice keeper on milk cup duties.

We have upgraded every single position with high class additions & those who were deemed clearly good enough to adapt to peps standards and ambitions were kept and have improved upon an added year of training and work under the best coach on the sphere.

Because we have the magic ingredients that trumps them all.... Confidence and work ethic.

On top of that we have quality

Pep has bought the quality but it takes a good man-manager to make them tick more thn the sum of their parts. It fucks me off that the media, the football fans of this country cannot see how good a manager Pep is, not just technically (Although he is supreme) but actually getting the most out of a bunch of guys.

Mainly we have been hitting the target with our shots at a much higher rate than last season (not necessarily more shots just more shots on target).

Goals result which allow any defensive errors to matter less.
Confidence thn flows and the opposition can no longer assume that over dependance on bus parking will help them get a draw or a sneaky win.

That's an easy one as far as I am concerned, with the players we have brought in, the balance we have is now near perfect, the players now play the Pep way without thinking about it and with confidence, its really that simple..!

The full-backs are more protective, mainly because they're more athletic, allowing the central defenders to be more aggressive as they know they will have cover.

The crazy thing that always strikes me is apart from Ederson & Walker, we're basically using the same players we had last season aside from Delph who wasn't playing, but available.

I'll put it simply...... The difference is we now have a proper manager.
