Why City's summer dealings could be very costly

I think the squad is unbalanced. Too many older players and younger players and not enough players at their peak. I think it will cost us the title this year as I can't see us ironing out the problems we have in the space of a few weeks and in any case, Chelsea look really strong regardless.

I think it will be worth being patient though and this will be addressed. We are not far off seeing the end of Clichy, Sagna, Navas, Kolorov, Toure, Zabaleta and possibly even Kompany and these will all need replacing. I think it's possible Fernandinho may be off too if the Chinese fancy him and make him an offer that we can't compete with.

I am sure next year and the one after that we will have an excellent balanced squad with some young academy players breaking through to compliment it.

It's an exciting future but I don't think this season will be one full of silverware. If we win something it will be a bonus for me.

Very good balanced view and one I agree with!

Think you're wrong about Zinchenko mate. I've seen a few of his games this season and he is the business. Deffo replacement for Spanish dave and will be integrated in next season. He has everything Silva has, plus power and pace. A mix if de bruyne and Silva. Honestly, watch a few games of his when it's next on kodi. The boy really is class
This. The more I watched the more shocked I am he was allowed to go on loan. I guess he'd be behind too many older players. But the kid is a straight up baller.

It appears to be open season on our summer signings and a lot of the criticism is from our own forum , so which of the top six teams have had unprecedented success with their signings ? Mkhitaryan , Batshuayi , Pogba , Janssen , Bailly , Xhaka , Mustafi , any of these hit the ground running ? Have they f*ck , the best signings have been Mane , Kante , Big nose Swede , and the judges are out on the rest. Gundogan , Sane and Nolito have done OK , Stones is struggling and Bravo has been a total disaster , but all this could change by the end of the season . It appears the patience of supporters , pundits , critics is now non- existent , i watched Colin Bell play his first dozen games when signed form Bury for what was then a big fee of £45k, he was shite , the following season he was OK and for the next decade he was the best box to box midfielder i have ever seen.

Yes Grimbleboots I was a bit young to fully remember it but CB did seem to get off to a slow start. You are right we need to be more patient but the intense competition for the top spots this season means that commodity seems to be short supply.

Losing Gundogan hurts, but I most of our transfers will work out. We just have to give them some time. I am interested in how much of an effect Gabriel Jesus will have on the squad. That along with Vinny comes back like gangbusters (big hope) then I think that would give a huge boost.
