Why did QPR kick the ball back to us after Dzeko scored?

hmm. could be that nedum swp and yes even the slagged off hughes knowing they were safe anyway maybe just maybe were quite happy if city won the game and the title!!
After Dzeko's goal they weren't safe yet... They only found out on the 93rd minute just after Lescott won the header (you can see the QPR fans start to celebrate in the background and hear the cheer) and even then from the reactions of most of their players after Aguero's goal, most of them were unaware that they were safe and only found out in-between Aguero's goal and the kickoff after Aguero's goal.

Mackie said that after Dzeko's goal, he knew they were safe.

If I'm not mistaken, the QPR bench were celebrating at the kickoff after Dzeko's goal, weren't they?

A couple of rags have said to me that QPR let us win, is that what you are alluding to?

I just found it really strange they gave us the ball. I can't recall seeing that before..maybe with seconds to go or something.

Look at the QPR player's hissy fit after Kun scored...of course they didn't let us win.

A few rags have said the same to me, and brought up the kickoff. But I don't believe for one minute they let us win.

At the kick off after Dzeko's goal no-one knew QPR were safe because they weren't. They kicked the ball down field because that was their mindset and because we had 7 players (one of whom was De Jong) pawing the ground around the centre circle and maybe they felt like general Custer must have felt just before his demise.

After that Mackie was in front of the bench so might well have been told before the third went in but I would think most of his team mates didn't know.

At the final restart Mackie is shouting for the ball on the right and I do agree that about 90 seconds remained. Maybe they heard their fans singing 'come on City', maybe they hate the rags, maybe they were exhausted and safe, maybe SWP called in a favour or maybe they just couldn't change their mindset. Who cares?

There is no way Hughes would let us win, he hates us with a passion..

If you look on tunnel cam, Eddie N, Mark Bowen and Kevin Hitchcock can be seen giving congrats to the City players and hang around for a while..

Hughes is nowhere to be seen..

Probabily thinking that his moment of glory has disappeared in front of his eyes.

As Ned takes the throw in that Lescott wins it is quite clear that people on the QPR bench behind Hughes who is in the technical area had heard that Stoke had drawn. They are punching the air, Mackie was near them and salutes the QPR fans as he runs back to defend. I doubt if the defence and Kenny knew the final score from Stoke
