I've never understood why people smile in photographs.

Fair enough if people are genuinely smiling and it is captured in the picture, but to put on a fake 'smile' that doesn't even use the same facial muscles as a genuine smile doesn't make any sense.
 
If I could be bothered I would post any random picture of me and I guarantee my head would be at angle. I have no idea why I do this, is it because I'm an ugly fuck Dr Corky?
