We can still win the league, but there's no room for error at all now. The run has to start now.

We could, but we won't. There's been nothing so far to suggest that we're capable of going on an unbeaten run until the end of the season. People will quote previous seasons, but the difference is that in those season we at least looked like a title winning side for the vast majority of games.

Mancini had us organised, winning the FA cup and finishing 3rd, while playing the Europa and with a weaker squad than we currently had. In the next season, we went on to thrash the spuds, dippers and rags. He has won and will win more trophies than Pellers, as he is the better manager.

Agree that Mancini is better in footballing terms, although Pelegrini not helped by some players being older.

The source of many of our ills this season. Slur Alex was slow to replace his and it was pretty disastrous for them as they're still trying to figure it out. We need to be bang on it this summer and make sure we get it rebuilt in one window. We have a head start with KDB and Raheem already in.

Pep loves lots of midfielders so it will be a surprise if we do not see a revamp of the midfield.

We start with a nice warm up session of look at my car in the CFA SPA carpark
Then we do some light Louis Vuitton washbag lifting.
Then we work on our facial muscles under the strict instruction of Sharon.
Next we have an intense game of "Guess my Face Mask" with Chappy followed by a full out session of high fiving, funny handshakes and back slapping.
A bit of side splitting target practice at whoever's being interviewd by CityTV follows.
We warm down with a bit of a kick about and a lot of hilarity when piggy in the middle gets the ball.
The manager then whips us up into a frenzy with his team talk.
Some stay behind to practice hitting the crossbar and for special treats Les dons his cap for some shooting practice and funny walks.

In all honesty, I don't know, but would genuinely like to hear from those priviledged enough to have access what a typical session involves.

Very simple.

Teams have over a period of 18 months worked out how to play against us under this manager. Anyone who watches us every week can see that the initial being too open and not compact enough as a team especially in midfield (defensively) post Mancini has been a problem since day one, but teams were still reluctant on the whole to physically press us as intensely and as high and mentally go toe to toe (especially at our place). This is why we were able to win the league once Liverpool had bottled it. The subsequent inferiority complex has gone (in the same way we smashed that against Utd at Old Trafford under Mancini). The spine has aged but its more to do with teams really do not fear playing us under this manager because he insists on a midfield which is open and seeks to use pace/width rather than disciplined, controlled, compact possession football or counter attack.

True, it's just how easily they dismissed Mancini when he was a fairly young manager and Pep was elsewhere. Mancini should have been backed and then if they still wanted Pep fine. I still feel we have missed out on 2 more titles and several quality players. Far from being well planned it could turn out to be a *uck up if we don't get top 4.

It's not necessarily how the opposition get back in position, it's more that we don't press up field quick enough when we gain possession. We're too predictable imho.

Yo keep saying this and I keep telling you you're wrong but you keep repeating it. I can't deny that some players were extremely unhappy with Mancini but sacking was 90% to do with his attitude towards the executive staff. After we'd beaten Newcastle, he was ordered out to Abu Dhabi to try to resolve the problems he was causing at the top level of the club. I'm not entirely sure whether he saw the Sheikh himself or Simon Pearce but the message to him was clear. The club wanted to work a certain way and he either co-operated with his peers or he would be out on his ear. He seems to have made it clear he wanted full control and that Soriano, Begiristain & Marwood should be sacked. This was clearly unacceptable to Sheikh Mansour/Simon Pearce and the inevitable decision to sack him was taken by the board a few days later, just before the derby.

If he'd been working closely with that executive group then I have little doubt any players not wanting to play for him would either have been given short shrift or any problem would have been resolved.

When watching us I sometimes feel you could literally pluck anyone out of the stands and put them on the bench and they'd probably get us better organised than we are, defending at least.

My view, open for debate. After the candlepool game and seeing all there second string in defense, easily mopping up our attacks. It highlighted our complete lack of group cohesion, we lose Kompany and we're in trouble, lose Yaya and distribution suffers. To me it stems from the kids all the way up to first team. How many times have our teams dominated only to be hit by a sucker punch?
Start with the defense, there all in a rush to get to the 18yrd box and hold the offside line, opposition just drop off 3-5 yrds and pick up the ball without a blue in sight happens in every game. To remedy all it takes is a blue to man mark there free man, rest can hold the line.
Our total lack of a challenge in all areas, opposition hoof the ball (or from our goal kicks, throw ins etc..) and have all the time in the world to collect or head on.
We just seem too rigid in our defending, even when we have 2 banks of four, no one picks up a runner or anyone between the banks, this mainly happens right in front of our penalty box. Silva would have a field day playing against us.
Pep will need to look at the system at all levels and remedy the glaring blind spot which is the players role when we don't have the ball. With the ball we are usually ok but way to slow moving it forward.

We're a one trick pony. Manuel said it two season ago and he obviously still believes it, attack is his philosophy. Score more goals than the opposition. He hasn't since day one had any real strategy for defending and now everyone has worked out (not just against us btw) that there are ways to successfully counter this, then we are stumped. You have to keep evolving your philosophy, tactically adapting to each new season and new trends in the game. We don't, we still go out with the plan to score early and dominate, when that doesn't happen, we have no idea what to do and apart from a very few occasions, when we concede first, we're screwed.

I don't think we get hammered across ninety minutes. I think it's a case of certain individuals, and it's not always the same culprits two matches running, playing an unbelievably poor spell of a few moments and then we get a momentary hammering. Repeat three or four times and the scoreline represents a hammering.

Did the other night and in the first match also Stoke and Leicester. Anyway you would not expect a team costing many millions to get hammered across 90, 45, 30 or 5 mins by so many teams in one season which is not over yet and probably has 1 o 2 more hammerings to come yet.
