Why do you go?

For those that do on here, why?

I know it seems a bit of a strange question but I bet people have different reasons to go. Also, my reasons to go to away games seem different to a lot of people on here, otherwise the atmosphere would be better!

I go to home games as its a good routine with my dad and uncle and we have a good laugh. Plus I love going to the ground.

I go to away games because I love to be in the minority in the ground in a town I'm not familiar with. I love to sing and get behind the team as much as possible. I love not expecting anything and hopefully getting something. I love to be drinking and having a good laugh with my City mates.
 
Better atmosphere....unless you believe some on here...

9 times out of 10 you have a good day regardless of the result because you can't even remember most of the game!
 
i love going for the banter. i like how i know everyone around me in the southstand because we see each other everyweek. i dunno why. its good that we all get along.

i went to my first city away game, sunday, it was great and good and the sunderlanders were friendly, had a nice chat with some in costa actually. however with me living in edinburgh its expecnive to go to away games. with the sometimes obscene prices and travel. sunderland was good because it was only about an hour and 45mins on train and then metro, which was very good.
but if i lived in england i would definitley go to away games, great atmosphere and some nice stadiums. newcastle and sunderland for me next season
