i've been studying social interaction within the working classes located within various english town and cities and it's effect on top level association football clubs since 1987.
Well? Go on; don't leave us hanging!

inconclusive, so far my research has proved only a handful of facts. excitement levels in the eastern districts of manchester seem to have a negative impact on the club that resides there. that is to say, the more the locals become aroused by their heroes, the more said heroes dream up new and imaginative ways of ballsing things up.
moving northerly, gents of a certain size believe that the sight of a naked abdomen during a blizzard will have a positive effect on the useless stripey shirted buffoons they are trying to impress.
in the capital, 'geezers' will try to outdo one another's machoism in a futile attempt to prove which club has the most gladiatorial folk following it.
the nervous habitants of merseyside seem to believe that all others are a seething mass of rage, and try to cool the non-existant situations by constantly requesting the opposition fans to "calm down".
while early signs point to "supporters" of manchester united being a complete and utter bunch of cu.................................................

My dad took me, I got hooked on the buzz at my first game and have gone ever since.

I enjoyed supporting an underdog for some reason, the highs were so high, because it was mainly low. At home its good to see the familiar faces around me, away its good to meet new people, 99 times out of 100 i'll run into decent people.

But its still the buzz for me, even once we've won something, which is my main focus, i'll always keep coming back to live matches, i honestly think our club is a little different, a little special.

your research sounds spot on there.

I'm currently going because i'm from Sydney and for years i've just dreamt of actually attending fixtures week by week. So i'm sorry if u see me with my camera out but it's prob only one of the times ill ever get to see my beloved blues.
I went to the liverpool game and was abit defo not to see a goal scored but went to the game at stamford bridge and that was amazing in its own right.
Love this club, love the fans, love everything.

Because the manager of our Asylum is a blue and makes us go on the fun bus, wether we like it, or not. If the bus ever brakes down, 111 will be empty. :)(:

-- Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:42 pm --

Because the manager of our Asylum is a blue and makes us go on the fun bus, wether we like it, or not.
