Why I want Hughes out and it’s not because of results

Why I want Hughes out and it’s not because of results. Although going out of two cup competitions against Brighton and Forest and being only 2 points ahead of Stoke and 1 below Wigan after 80% of the season has been completed. And still to reach the so called ‘safe from relegation’ target of 40 points. All of this after spending far more than any other team this season. No it’s because of his one dimensional thinking. Having wanted Santa Cruz , his first attempt to buy him was in August and failed again to get him in January. He continues to send out a team in a formation to play to a target man. This despite having many talented players at his disposal who would play better if utilised better. Assuming he gets SC in the summer. (His total focus on a player who has still only had one good season is further evidence of his inability to think beyond one approach). What happens when SC/ or similar player is injured? With one up front our opponents do not need to defend leaving all defenders back. So we play at least 2 sometimes 3 defensive midfielders to cope with the oppositions freedom. And this of course leads to us keeping clean sheet!!!!!!!!! Hughes cannot see that this system continues to fail. We appear to play better at home simply because the away team are more cautious so we can push up ourselves and be more creative. He talks about players being tired instead of recognising that his tactics are the problem. We have played 48 games this season and no player has played in them all. Lampard has played in 59! And did he look tired against Liverpool? Despite Hughes belief that his players are amongst the fittest in the league only 3 or 4 of ours continuously look fit after 70 minutes. Don’t confuse last nights performance with anything Hughes did, that game was played by the guys on the pitch for the fans and themselves not Hughes job. He may well survive beyond the end of this season but if he does this will only delay our progression as he will eventually have to go. He now has 6 games left against opposition that should, the Rags apart be at least 9 to12 points for a team of average expectations. Let’s see how he does and if the Hughes out or the Hughes to stay group are right.

I really wish he would just do one and you're right, his performance during January's transfer window was absolutely abject.

I want Hughes to go for above.

and the results.. Although I would have coped with the above if the results had been better.

Last night was a prime example. For me we had lost the initiative in terms of looking like scoring with 20 minutes to go before dunnies latest madness and zabs injury. He needed to be brave then and make a change. Instead he was a gutless coward and watched like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Even when he made a change he dithered over a simple spineless like for like substitution.

The player put it in last night and worked hard but we only created 3 clear chances (freekicks appart) and the keeper only had one real save to make from robbie

For Gods sake even the muppet Mclaren took a side to the final of the waffa cup by going for it and being brave.

Sorry great effort from the players last night but overall for the season hughes can go.

I totally agree, I never wanted the ex-rag.

He is a clueless as a top flight manager. He has been outwitted by other managers all season. That is why we are below Wigan etc. It's not the players but the coaching anf management.
He failed to organise and motivate for many many games. He failed to change things for the betterduring the game 90% of the time.
Last night the players worked hard but why haven't they done that at nearly everyway game this season including last week at Hamburg.
The sooner the owners see him for what he is the better.

We need a manager with vision and ability who can take the club forward. He is taking us backwards.
I believe most other managers in the division with the squad of players has would have done better in the two domestic cups and be on at least 50 points now.
I wasn't expecting a top 4 finish this season, but I expected to be pushing for top 6 and so did most other football fans across the country.
He has screwed it up. Hid behind excuses. He should go

So it was an okay decision to have no plan B in terms of bringing a striker in during the last window. Why the fuck did it have to be RSC or bust? And I don't care what anyone says, the UEFA Cup was winnable and it wouldn't have taken much to bring in a couple of strikers to help us get the job done. What a waste.

Thanks Kippax Blueboy. You said it right. I would have been happy with a reasonable domestic cup run and a top half position. I did not expect miracles in one season but we have had too many very poor games and in the end it’s the manager who gets the players and tactics set for the game. Too often he has got the tactics and squad wrong. Yes last night was a great game we pushed forward and looked good but only because HSV came to defend their 2 goal lead and counter attack. Our defence gifting them another goal on a breakout attack was a bonus to them. The next time we saw them attack other than on the counter was after Dunnie went off. Then Hughes sent on his ‘impact player’ – Gelson!!!!!!!. What he sees in him? The only excuse Hughes has is that he never saw Fitzroy Simpson play.

Did we not try, would you have been happy to have given Blackburn all that cash for Roque, if not Roque who else should we have bought, name names and they will get picked off because its fact that rarely do very good players change clubs in January. And if you "don't really care what anyone says" why enter into a discussion about it.
