Why is Cancer so difficult to treat?

Mum died of cancer at 42.
Both maternal grandparents had cancer, different types.
Uncle died of cancer at 60.
Best friend died of cancer at 50.
Dad had a brain tumour, but thankfully survived.
Mother in law died of cancer.
I fundraise for cancer research and Willow Wood.
I pray for a cure but in the meantime I’ll keep fundraising to try and help others.

I lost a very good friend to cancer in 2010...the Brazilian specialist was coming out of his room after telling him and his mrs it was drapers, she pulled me and asked what 'doll' meant, i asked in what context and she said your friend said 'i'll be alright Doll, you get yourself a pint and a leg over, job is a ball of wools'...i explained best i could and she trotted off half amused.
Ten mins later she is back and this is the part that stuck with me...she said she fully understood now what me pal had said and she looked through his notes and said it appears he is quite a character and because of that single trait she was going to wing a slightly different medication because characterful patients via this route have been noted to have a modicum of success.

He didnt have the success but he made us all laugh.
