Why is the Market Moving so Slowly?

I blame Einstein and his Theories of Relativity. As the transfer market accelerates up to the speed of light, time appears to move slowly and so the 'impasse' is simply an illusion.

blame twatini and his ffp, it has really started to bite; nobody as willing to spend as big as they used to be - ultimately bad for the smaller clubs who rely on transfer revenue to survive, thanks uefa

Just needed to bring this up as what you said is 100% true, plus I f*cking hate that new rule. So bad for football it makes you want to cry. Glad we made it to the top before it was announced but I do feel for all smaller clubs.

but, more on topic.
You think it's as easy as in football managers etc where you just raise your bid as long as the selling club agrees?
Concluding a multi-million pound deal is a bloody huge project. Not to mention that seriously, it does make a difference whether you pay £17 million for a player which might be your opinion of fair value, as opposed to £23 what the selling club is looking for. It might be you've budgeted to spend maximum of £20 million this summer but this one player might be exactly the player who your manager wants so maybe you have to get someone off your books to save some money to be budgeted to your transfer kitty. But again you find yourself in a negotiation table where your and your business partner don't see eye-to-eye at first. chill out.

I think it's the case that city are keeping a tight lid on all there bidding/transfers compared to when we were first bought over and every one knew our business,I know it can be a pain and seems like we are doing nothing but I like it this way,I'm sick hearing that we are linked with every player on earth and driving up the price tags,I like the new city,a lot more professional and slick.

Barcelona have signed Neymar. There's probably only three players who could make a move that could be more significant.

don't forget length contraction causing the market to get smaller :p

Most clubs in PL have signed player/s and it's only 3 July.

Most have been smaller signings from foreign teams as opposed to intra-British deals as in the past.

Presumably better value to be had abroad as mid to lower rank PL teams search for the next Michu, Benteke, Dembele or Kompany.
