And you, in "deciding" who should be on here and not, are a bit of a prick. He has exactly the same rights as you do, and his opinion is just as valid as yours.

At least Mancio makes some insightful comments now and again, even if I feel he's sometimes slightly off the mark. In stark contrast, I literally only notice GMRR when he's starting some bizarre thread about AJ being the best player we have and who should be starting every game, because he can beat a man well good with his skillz innit.

GMRR, are you actually related to AJ? O maybe you're attracted to him - politically? Sexually? Religiously?
That time he had to run off the pitch, rumour has it he went to remove GMRR from his arsehole.

We shouldn't be having a go at anyone, alright we didn't win, unlike the rags we don't have a divine right to win games, it is what makes football interesting especially 3rd round FA cup ties. Hopefully we will beat them in the replay, we have a big enough squad. Leicester played well but we are still in it. Some players had off days get over it lets move on. Win against Wolves please.

@ Damicoles: Thanks for setting Grand Pupu straight! That said, her e is my opinion on AJ.

AJ is a decent player with bags of tricks but a whole lot of deficiencies too. His biggest problem in my opinion is probably the hype around him. Mostly from the press in an attempt to slate Mancini for not playing him often.

Anytime AJ does something good, he is hyped to high heavens and questions abound on why Mancini doesn't like him. They often make it sound like Mancini has something against him. This is sad.

Generally speaking AJ is very skillful, his stop and start moves are impecable. He drives at his defender well in wide areas. Has a fantastic shot (both power and touch). But his best skill is the ability to read and cut in for a slide pass. He does this as well as anyone in the Premier League. And he finishes very well when he makes that run.

On the weakness side, he is not that fast, quick in and out of cuts, but not a straight line speedster. He's ball control (or should I say style of control) is poor. He uses the outside of his foot, which forces him to touch the ball 2-3 times before he looks up. This deficiency bleeds into his decision making, coz once he does that 3 touch control, a few plays that could have been made are often lost, forcing him to fall back onto attempting to dribble, and getting into trouble when there is no space. He is not a good close area dribbler.

I have noticed he is making an extra effort to pass early now. But this is not natural to him and makes him a bit tentative, which actually negatively affects his explosiveness (his pass to Yaya for the defectled goal was an example.) In the past, he would have taken a shot, and that was actually the correct decision, as Yaya was in a poorer position and would have been offside if the far defender didn't jump back. But we got lucky. I have seen him tentatively look for the pass in a few games of late, almost as if he is hearing the coaches in his head saying you need to be a better team player to get games.

But this is good. With time he will be more comfortable with the decisions and choose correctly more often than not whether to pass or go at it. So I am quite hopeful. The English hype has to subside, so he can fully learn his art. He already has the essential parts that cannot be taught, now he just needs to master the intricacies of decision making and he will fly.

As for today, he was no worse off than 80% of the guys on the field. So no point singling him out. Personally I thought only Milner had an outstanding game. Everyone else blew hot and cold. Mostly cold.!!!!

I know I have asked this a few times, but can anyone tell me how to start a thread. It seems I am unable to. :(

Nicely balanced post.
