Why The Hell Would Anyone Want Mancini Sacked ?

Context thrown out the window once again... Klopp has helped build BVB into what they are on a very limited budget and it sometimes shows when they have to rotate before/after Champions League games (the source of many dropped points). Give Klopp £200million to improve his squad and I'm sure his win % will go up. Mancini's win rate at Fiorentina was 22% and at Lazio it was 48%. He went to a richer club and it went up.

To the staunch inners- what happens if we do move Mancini on? Do we suddenly have bad owners/ guys at the top?

You consistently have a go at the fans who want Mancini out- 'spoilt fans' 'turn into chelsea' etc- but there is a distinct possibility he could go. Not saying it will happen, but you have to accept that it isn't just a minority on this forum who want him gone, but it is discussed in the press on a weekly basis, and has been for a while now.

Bearing that in mind, there has been nothing from the club to dispell any rumours. And it's not like it would be a dreaded vote of confidence- there are a lot of reasons for Mancini to stay which would be well supported by areas of the press, so why haven't we come out and said that all speculation is ridiculous, unless I have completely missed it.

There is so much argument on here, but there is a distinct possibility that Mancini could go- and it won't have been anything to do with a few city fans on here saying they don't rate him....
Since I can't see that anyone else has replied to you, I will.

I've been necking a few stumpys tonight so apologies if this isn't as coherent as it could be, but the attempt is to also answer some of the shite over the last 30/40-odd pages.

Someone mentioned we should have put our deadwood players in the shop window by starting them and hoping they hit form, can you imagine if we'd started the likes of Bridge and were in 6th? The rest of this bullshit would be even worse. Playing a player in the hope he plays well and increases his sell on value is not what we should be doing. We should be putting out a team to win, and we do that all the time. Because nowadays, we win all the time too.

Ferran and Txili are not going to sack Mancini to save their own job (imho they won't sack him at all, at least for the forseeable). They won't even recommend to Khaldoon that a change should be made, because it shouldn't be. The Barca crew are going to work with Mancini over summer, and we'll improve the squad like we didn't last year. Mancini said at the time, one or two more and we will push on, instead we get 5 transfers on the last day of the window. I don't think and I bloody hope it isn't, how these new guys operate.

As a "Mancini inner" (sounds ridiculous to me that I have to call myself that to other City fans), I'm not blinkered to europe, I accept we could have done better. But in the big picture others must also accept it was a tremendously difficult group, and momentum matters. We never had the momentum from the last minute fuckups in Madrid. One of the main protagonists about Europe being Mancini's downfall now admits to an admiration of Ajax's style of play. It is in this thread.

IMHO, Charity Shield is a valid trophy. To qualify for it, you must either win the league or the cup. If any club could "apply" for a season starter match and call the winner's medal the Charity Shield, then it would be a "glorified friendly", as it is the trophy winners from the previous season play it so it isn't to be scoffed at, imo. Got to be in it to win it, after all. A team earns the right to play in it by being triumphant in the previous season. So even if we don't beat Wigan, it is still 3 trophies in 3 seasons.

The suggestion that Mancini wants Monaco for the weather? Do you forget who we are dealing with here? Does anyone honestly believe that one of Mancini's considerations will be the fucking weather? Or the food? Or looking shit hot in a casino (which I agree he would do!)? He has got a job to do here at City, money isn't a concern the bloke is already rich beyond our comprehension. He wants to complete the job. Before I get started on by some for that, no I don't know it for fact, and if I am later proved wrong then OK, but that is my impression. He comes across to me as someone who does not want to leave and who wants to make us stronger. He'll not walk IMHO. We are building something here and Mancini is a major part of that.

What is really frustrating to me is the discussion always concentrated about what the papers say. Paper-readers in work ask me about Mancini, when they hear my responses it's "OK, so and so doesn't think so". Most of the criticism on here comes from the papers, and they in turn get some material from here. It's a pathetic cycle. Intelligent observers, such as Shearer this week (ironically in the papers, but who no-one can say doesn't know football) can see it for the ridiculousness it is.

I understand the need for some City fans to debate other managers, it was the main topic for us all for so long, but understand that this year, like the last 2 years, the possibility discussed won't actually become reality. And the catalyst from incoming riches to our success is now a bottler? Really?

People ask why we're so bad this year with same squad as last year. First of all last year's was also short, we masked it by winning it, we overachieved. Mancini said we need to strengthen. Second of all, we aren't "that bad", we're fucking second, and if we hadn't stung the scum so bad last year, they wouldn't have mounted such a strong challenge this. We need a stronger squad, we need more options, Mancini was not wrong in requesting this and making a big deal out of not getting it, maybe more importantly we simply need more goals.

Finally, the "shortest reigning champs" tag is most definitely a rag stat if ever there was one. Utter shite.

To the staunch inners- what happens if we do move Mancini on?
We'll always support the club first.

IF, IF Mancini wasn't here I personally think Michael Laudrup is great value to be the next Manager of City. 50/1 at Sky Bet

Strong Barca connections with Txiki. Prefers attractive football. His players want to play for him. It was a hard act to follow in Brendan Rodgers but has adapted to Premier League and its domestic competitions superbly in his first season. Could be the perfect 'Yes Man" for the Barca Boys. His stock is rising fast as a Manager.

If Bayern have signed Gotze from Dortmund as reported, Klopp may say to hell with it and consider his options... just sayin'.

Yep.

Klopp can bail water from a sinking ship, but if this is true, it looks inevitable that Dortmund are going the way of Arsenal.

Maybe he doesn't mind. Bet he was reeling when he found out, though. Might as well ask.

Managerial win % -

Bobby - 59.36

Quite interesting stats above.

Why anyone want to bring in Klopp over Mancini is beyond me. Yes a better record in Europe but less experience I feel overall as a top level manager.
Forget it mate. Mancini is the devil incarnate to some here. All that money he has to spend and how dare he not win even more silverware than he has already.

Still, don't worry mate, I've submitted an email to Txiki & Ferran with a list of candidates I feel suitable to manage City should they decide to replace Mancini.

United win title with 4 games to spare. I feel lethargic right now.

Some of the shit on here about not being bothered, I mean what in the fuck is that? Those bastards are our rivals and they have have the title, I feel raged right now that we have put up no fight at all. To say otherwise is bollocks. We should all be vexed with the lack of fight shown, manager and players, this is unacceptable, fair enough it's not happening each year but we should at least be threatening the bastards rather than telling them cruise. We are stronger from GK, DEF, MID and 50/50 in attack (Tevez and Aguero are as good as Rooney and RVP imo). What we have seen simply isn't good enough.

Agreed. Its down to Mancini to get the best out of the Squad. Hes done a great job up to now. I think we can do SO much better. Citys potential is off the scale. Dont think Mancini will take us there, Sadly.

Out of the League Cup V Villa at first round

Bottom of Champions league group. (2nd season running knocked out at groups).

Continues to Struggle against average European Opposition. Kiev, Lisbon, Ajax, Napoli, Poznan(a), Aris(a),

Cant buy League wins away at Liverpool, Everton, Sunderland, Stoke

16 Points behind United who win the league with 4 spare

Spent 40 million on Garcia, Sinclair, Rodwell, Maicon last summer. - Not all down to Mancini I admit

At start of 12/13 a squad consisting of Silva, Yaya Toure, Dzeko, Nasri, Tevez, Aguero and Balotelli..... United, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool have all outscored us.

On a brighter note, I have seen worst seasons. ;)

And acting like a spoil school kid is going to do what exactly??

Second and an fa cup final is a good season-not great,just acceptable<br /><br />-- Tue Apr 23, 2013 8:27 am --<br /><br />

Just because we have spent x,y or z...so what...Still have to perform on the pitch and the players certainly haven't done it to a level we should have accepted this year however if we win the cup that will be fine
