I am coming to the idea that wifi speakers are required and i would like to stream it throughout the house although i suspect that maybe to expensive (budget of £300) Few questions, Would i be better using bluetooth ? Is there an alternative to spotify that doesnt require subscription? Still stuck in my cave with this one,we do have ipods/phones. Thanks Blues.

Essentially you need to look at what products you will be streaming from/to and the distance you need the signal to travel. Check that the products have the same bluetooth/wi-fi capabilities.

It can get rather complex, but in a nutshell bluetooth is a universal standard and easy to use, although it's range is fairly limited (can be 30ft or less) and sound quality can be affected (depending on the music format you are streaming). WiFi systems have a wider signal range and can offer better sound quality, Wi-Fi is usually the preferred choice if you want wireless sound in multiple rooms.

It's probably easier (and cheaper) to boost your Wi-Fi around the house than it is for Bluetooth.

Bluetooth audio demands line of sight, i know this as i bought the harmon kardon wireless speakers and anything beyond 3m direct line of sight leaves bad and patchy audio.
They are not even wireless the fucking cunts, main base unit is but it has wires to the speakers which they did a damned good job of not telling customers about or showing in any pics.

Where was i, oh yes get a repeater/booster for your wifi.
Cabled is best if your an audiophile otherwise wireless imo.
