Wierd Smell in Manchester

Been reports of a strong gas type of smell over the last few days. Last night we could smell a very strong petroleum/tar type of smell, and now tonight we can smell it again. Can anyone else smell a very strong chemical type of smell?

It's the overflow of shit from Merseyside. It's been steadily creeping down the ship canal for weeks.
 
Probably due to the last 15 mins at goodison park,and everyone shitting themselves till the final whistle went,the methane levels must have been through the roof....
 
We had that down on the south coast a couple of months ago,came over from france,everyone thought their houses were about to blow up.It's harmless though and not a gas leak
 
It's them chemtrails coming home to roost cough cough
 
I could smell gas on the M62 before near the fracking site. Must be something to do with that. Was really strong.

Natural Gas is pretty odorless they add a chemical to make it smell

In Urmston we get 3 smells, the shit works down the road at Davyhume, Shell at Carrington which is a gas/oil smell and the farmers around City's training ground in Carrington spread pig shit over their fields, don't know how anyone can live in Carrington its whiffsville

You think it's bad now, the smell from Davyhume Sewage works was many times worse when I was growing up, how people put up with it for so long, the poor sods living down Bent Lanes got so used to it they failed to notice it, it can't have been healthy
 
Has anybody else noticed it always smells like shit outside the pizza express on oxford road? Ive no idea how it doesn't ruin peoples appetite before they walk in

Not lived in the area that long but the Mrs has been around here all her life, she said it was that bad in Davyhume years ago people tried to sell their houses in Winter when the smell wasn't as noticable
