Strangest team ever. One week they're unbelievably shit and the next they're brilliant. They were outplaying the rags and the Tarquins this time last year but then they diverted to type. Can't make them out at all. Thought they were far better opponents to the usual bus park brigade.

They normally do their big surivial thing at the end of the season and suddenly look good. They remind me of the coventry and southampton of old, crap yet survive every season, except wigan play it around a bit better

Birmingham did the same the other season. Won the League Cup and got relegated. Ended up playing in Europe and the Championship, bizarre.

The mad thing was about that relegation Brum weren't in the bottom three at any point from the first whistle of the first game right through the season, until the final whistle of the last game when they fell into the bottom three and got relegated.

And if they go down we will hear from DirtyDick (it was a fair tackle) Whelan (and Martinez) that the priority will be getting back into the PL, and the last thing they want is a Europa League escapade.
