I went to the FA Cup game years ago when Wilkie decided to award the Rags a Penalty after he claimed Frontzeck climbed on Eric the Thug's Shoulder From a Corner.
We were winning 1-0 at the time
It took the Wind out of City and we lost in the End
Yesterday we were victims of another dire decision with, An alleged Referee Called Attwell
So, I know they are different times now and then but wondrred which truly was the worst for us?
Mine is today having read and seen it
But wanted to gauge Blues Opinons

Michael Oliver and the PGMOL are to blame more than Atwell today in my opinion. Referees make mistakes and have one chance to see it, Michael Oliver decided to be a shithouse hiding behind words when it was clear to everyone.

On that basis it is Wilkie, still not over that.

I mentioned that decision to my son today as it reminded me of it. No way into the game without it, both corrupt.

Wilkie was worst as nothing happened & they were awarded a penalty. This was bent but the ref put a modicum of effort into trying to hide it.

My thoughts exactly, Wilkie just made shit up to get the rags back in the game that day, at the time no one had any idea what the penalty was for, non of the rag players appealed for anything, it was clear & obvious cheating from the ref & all these years later it still makes me very angry.

This thread is obsolete without any mention of Alf Grey 1898.
City 0 Liverpool 1
League Cup semi final at Maine Road.
Those who know, know....
This thread is bringing back some very bad memories, I was sat with my brother in the North Stand for that game & we still talk about it now, although looking at the date I didnt realise it was that long ago :-)

Oliver did his job confirmed offside that is the extend of the VAR role Atwell being the onfield referee made a wrong interpretation of the law The non interference was there to allow a player to become onside once a team mate or opponent had executed a play
If Rashford was onside and Fernandez off when the ball was played then Rashford could have ran with the ball and thus Fernandez, not being active at point of Casemiro passing would then become onside Even then a little contentious but that was the intention of the law makers Atwell was wrong on so many counts and he has form for major cock ups

I am pretty sure it was Oliver that gave the penalty when it Ricocheted at the speed of light from Micah's foot into his arm at Anfield?

For.those that were not there that day, not alive at the time or don't remember it.

it is about 4 mins in and a joke of a decision I still get fucked off by

This was equally as bad as yesterday especially as Cuntona commited the foul and got a pen for it

Also don't watch it all it is a painful watch, lee sharpe is also a **** :-)

I'm surprised Atwell got the game. I was surprised before and I worried because he's a puppet. The authorities stood by him when he gave Reading a goal at Watford when he started out.
He was demoted 10 years ago and now he's given a Manchester Derby.
He's a lapdog ref and will do as he's told.
I didn't think there was a foul in the area on Haaland yesterday and still don't, BUT there was a touch so if they are interpreting the laws to the letter (the words of clowns like Peter Walton et al who have come out to support Atwell and Michael Oliver) then by definition it was a pen, like it was a yellow in the first minute when one of theirs clattered KDB(?)

We've played the scum and the coach wreckers away and we've been stitched up by the officials in BOTH games.
BUT of course there's NO AGENDA!

True, I was in the Stretford end and nobody appealed, they all thought it was a city free kick

Atwell deliberately overruled the liner he is totally to blame. The VAR couldn't overrule the ref decision because its only an opinion that Rashford was interferring with play because he didn't touch the ball. Atwell is totally at fault for rank bad refereeing.
