Phil Dowd,I thinkI am pretty sure it was Oliver that gave the penalty when it Ricocheted at the speed of light from Micah's foot into his arm at Anfield?

I'm loathed to go down the corruption route because I think it undermines anything anyone achieves in the game. Last season we got two decisions against Wolves and Everton that probably affected the result of both games. Both sets of opposition cried foul and both decisions were deemed corrupt by them because they favoured the team at the top. If there is corruption in the game then our league title win last season wouldn't be regarded as valid(even though we know it is).Rank bad refereeing is being very kind imo. We have seen, very clearly in the last week or so how certain teams in red are officiated (Yesterday & liverpool/Wolves). Its like a cancer thru the game. No VAR to blame (yes its implementation by same corrupt people is also a joke. Deliberate no doubt to try to ruin its credibility’s as it levels the field potentially and PIGMOL cant be having that). It clearly shows the mindset of officials when it comes to certain teams……. Been goin on for decades!
The decision he made was influenced by pressure from the crowd but also peer group pressure going back years which makes referees scared of upsetting the most powerful clubs. MUFC wield huge influence behind the scenes. Atwell knows that if he upsets them it will impact on his career moving forward. It is not corruption in the direct financial sense but in my view it was dishonest decision. He overruled the linesman who had a great view of the whole incident and Atwell didn't even check a TV monitor. That is more than just incompetence. It is bias.I'm loathed to go down the corruption route because I think it undermines anything anyone achieves in the game. As disappointed and still angry as I am, I'm going to stick with my original comment that is was just rank bad officiating. Atwell just thought he was being a clever a 2hat using his interpretation of the rules probably to make him look good.
I think your looking at it a bit too deeply, Bobby. If the right decision had been given it would have been forgotten about in seconds. The decision he made was influenced by pressure from the crowd but also peer group pressure going back years which makes referees scared of upsetting the most powerful clubs. I would accept all your argument if this had happened in the pre-VAR days but it was all captured on camera. Many goals are disallowed for offside because someone is blocking the goalkeeper's vision. Rashford even dummied to shoot before Fernandez put it in. It was an easy call for Atwell.
For.those that were not there that day, not alive at the time or don't remember it.
it is about 4 mins in and a joke of a decision I still get fucked off by
This was equally as bad as yesterday especially as Cuntona commited the foul and got a pen for it
Also don't watch it all it is a painful watch, lee sharpe is also a **** :-)
You're right Alf Bloody grey I'm getting my whistling wankers all mixed up.alf grey not wilkie
I'll be there on thursdaySomehow I don't think attwell will back to the Etihad any time soon.needs a few weeks rest to reflect on his farcical decision making
That was at City, when he hit it about as hard as my gran, and she’s 100 and dead.Didn’t Vassell get one at the swamp more recently than that?
I'm surprised Atwell got the game. I was surprised before and I worried because he's a puppet. The authorities stood by him when he gave Reading a goal at Watford when he started out.
He was demoted 10 years ago and now he's given a Manchester Derby.
He's a lapdog ref and will do as he's told.
I didn't think there was a foul in the area on Haaland yesterday and still don't, BUT there was a touch so if they are interpreting the laws to the letter (the words of clowns like Peter Walton et al who have come out to support Atwell and Michael Oliver) then by definition it was a pen, like it was a yellow in the first minute when one of theirs clattered KDB(?)
We've played the scum and the coach wreckers away and we've been stitched up by the officials in BOTH games.
BUT of course there's NO AGENDA!
Isn't it strange they are normally looked at for 1-2 minutes, but these were both dealt with in seconds!Bar the Rashford offside, the penalty incident on Haaland stood out for me. I was at OT. Almost every City player appealed for a penalty, but Atwell wasn’t interested, neither was VAR.
