wilkins on sky

SSN were at it yesterday, when they showed the Non - Penalty decision and Dermot Gallagher stated that it was a clear Pen, they moved on very quickly to Willy not being on his line for the Pens, then that Yaya should have been booked for this celebration. I thought they were joking at first then realised they were being serious! Don't think they like us very much!
Just made me laugh at their pettiness.
Am I the only one who thought that Yaya was taking the pi...mickey out of Coutinho's over celebration for an equaliser!

Indeed it's not a worthy talking point and the ref applied common sense there. Wilkins should have talked about Yaya's red card challenge on Lallana instead.

certainly a more credible talking point and it undoubtable deserved a booking , but again red ?? im 50/50 on that one

Applied common sense? There was no infraction. And there's no way Yaya's challenge was worthy of a red if Lucas's wasn't deemed worthy by the same ref.

Fair enough I only watched the Yaya challenge live, haven't seen it back. And I don't remember the one by Lucas.

The highlights were edited on Sky to make it look like we both had an equal amount of chances and I must have heard from about 4 different Sky experts how Liverpool were very unlucky not to win the game outright before the shootout, despite us missing an absolute comical amount of chances.

To top it off, that twat who presents ref watch on Sky Sports News was bleating on for ages about how Caballero's saved penalties should have been re-taken because he was off his line. Once again Dermot had to put him in his place.

It's ridiculous. It's difficult to ignore as well because it's nice to watch the reaction from the game to relive the moments, but then you get bombarded with bitterness and bullshit by the highly paid experts who can't summon up the strength to show a bit of balance or impartiality.

I think it could have been a red card when looked at in isolation. However it wasn't and so who gives a fuck.

To be honest they could have had a couple of second bookings and so could we. Kompany and Fernando were both walking a fine line as were Clyne and Lucas for them. The ref was very lenient throughout the match

Depends if the player is a City player, and the referee is Mark Clattenburg. Remember when Adebayor was booked for his celebration against Arsenal (cue the famous gif), but changed that to time wasting for him to get a ban? Even more amazing is that he was the first back in his own half after the goal, so how was he time wasting?

Prick! Didn't that 18 year old jump in the crowd TWICE on Thursday night when he scored two goals. He didn't get booked on both occasions.

Has he said anything about that?

Dermot said while Cabellero was off his line, it's impossible for referees to have a zero tolerance policy on it so rather than attempt to stop the keeper from doing it, they clamp down on the keeper making an extra action after his first movement (if the first movement is fairly slight). The presenter then showed the Coutinho penalty and pointed out how far Willy was off his line and Dermot basically said it was Coutinho's own fault for stuttering on his run up. And Dermot finished by pointing out Mignolet was also off his line for every penalty but nobody is talking about that because he didn't save any of them.
