Thank fuck you're not playing for us.

Death is not important. Life is important. Football is life. You need to get your head on the game son.

As for Bellamy, if he can't handle it, let him sit out. Good news for City though I think Micah copes best with speed rather than guile.

Who would replace Bellamy?

Is this a piss poor Clarkie ??

Is it fuck.

If our players had the mentality of some on here, we'd get beat 10-0 today.

Life goes on. You can spend it mourning about someone you didn't know or you can get on with it and enjoy it and bring 3 points back to Manchester.
Harsh.

Don't agree at all Jay.

Read off topic, there's one bloke with several months left to live, one of the things keeping him going is the hope of staying around to see City win the league. Football is hugely important to many peoples mental welbeing and not to put too finer point on it, Speed is one man, who took his own life. The poster in off topic has no such choice.

It's one game of football. I'm not saying lets postpone the whole of football for a month. I've no doubt the game will go ahead (SKY) but to me some things are more important.
I know of one blue that does suffer from depression and one of the things that helps him get through is supporting the blues and he literally gets through by thinking game to game. It's always there for him to luck forward to when he is down. I'm not taking the piss either.

Speed's death is very sad but people die every single day and no one gives a fuck. Have a minutes silence, pay your respects. But to call a game off for it because one player is too upset to play is ridiculous.

A rather apt quote from the Guardian's minute-by-minute:

1.24pm: Nicholas John has emailed to say: "I do not mean to be in any way pithy or sarcastic or anything that people normally have to be when writing to MBMs, but while it is true that this particular game has no significance in light of the terrible news, it is only because of football that we are mourning Gary Speed's death at all."

Will Milner play? Played with Speed at the toon. Imagine this will have hit him hard.

Speed left in July 2004, Milner made his debut in August of the same year.

We have another game on Tuesday. It's not really about one player being upset, it's about the feeling around the game. It's not going to be like a normal match. Ultimately it doesn't matter, it will be played and there will still be 3points for a win.

You can hardly base postponing football on somebody taking there own life. While my sympathies lie with his family, and I don't agree that football is more important than life. However I am slightly less forgiving to somebody who appeared to have so much killing themself. Obviously I am unaware of the exact in's and out's of Gary Speed's life, I hardly think suicide should be used as a pretense to ruin the lives of so many other. And believe me I do feel very harsh saying such things.

Ah right I thought they'd played together.

Me too, that's why I checked.

Speed left Leeds when Milner was around 10yr old so might not have crossed paths then either.
