Will City be queuing overnight

Yes. But when did Grant return and why was Hudson on the bench in Turin and not Carson?
Is Carson injured? Did Grant return because he’s injured? If Carson is left out of the squad a place becomes vacant.

Carson's absence is believed to be down to illness.

not sure why grant was sent back, was on loan for the season. Non league team so can play in the PL2 maybe?

Grant, 18, is currently on loan at Buxton from Manchester City. It's not a well-trodden path, but it's one that the teenager has taken in order to gain valuable first team experience in men's football whilst also being able to train full-time across both clubs.

Stocking fillers not main presents in this Transfer Window. We didn't excatly went full out for Riyad Mahrez, despite him wanting join us mid-season. It didn't stop us going for him in the summer. We signed Wilfred Bony but ended up with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling in the following transfer window. Alexis Sanchez end up at united in January We may need a couple it is finding them is the stumbling block and paying the premium.

How quick we act will be what tells us exactly how City feel. If they feel like there's anything remotely salvageable this season, you'd expect a couple of deals to have been done already to go through 1st Jan. Get them in the door and up and running as quickly as possible. If we're looking at triggering release clauses, there's zero reason not to do exactly that.

If they spend the majority of January doing nothing, looking to save a couple of million and a weeks wage whilst we continue going from one calamity to another on the pitch then it's clear they've already written off the season.

Surely this time the hierarchy realise that decisive action must be taken. Just because a couple of players might return (Bobb, Stones, etc) won't change the fact that we have a small squad that is out on their feet and low in confidence.
Need the equivalent of Bobby Mc, Tommy Hutch and Gerry Gow

If any of our current stars find their form would help us more than a couple of signings at this stage.

Disagree, individuals dragging us through games might paper cracks for a bitnbut there's big problems in the side and nobody in the squad is capable of fixing them. New defensive options are required.

Still deserve to see out of the season. They have earnt that. If the quality isn't availble it is poinless frittering away money for a short term fix. We never even replaced Cancelo mid season after we ejected him from the first team, despite having a few dodgy results back then.

I wasn't suggesting getting rid of anybody, reinforcements are needed now, replacements can wait.
Still didn't add mid season even though the squad was looking dangerously thin. I don't see the club changing their transfer policy now. Especially with the current DoF retiring.

Us typically not being all that active in January doesnt mean its our policy, it just means we havent felt it neccesary in the past.

It's very neccesary now though. We have 1 win in 11 games, it's quite literally the worst form in the entire division, there's never been the need to bolster the squad quite like this. Quite simply, we won't be playing champions league football next season without using the January transfer market. It would be negligent not to make signings.

We won't change a habit of a lifetime for a short term answer. Zubimendi has a few injury issues which would near enough put paid to any transfer bid from either us or Liverpool.

No club is ever consistently active in January. It's nearly always reserved for clubs in trouble, we've never fallen under that category, until now.

There's really nothing to back the idea we won't spend now when it is very much required simply because we haven't needed to spend at this point in previous seasons.

There have been a few recent scrapes where we thought a couple of signing would have helped us get over the line. If if Txki Bergistain didn't retire then I might be more convinced we might have dipped our toe in January but still can't see any availble players who can really help
