Will Hamburg Freeze?

Not really our forte and probably not a good idea in a european game anyway (assuming you meant on the pitch).

The atmosphere at Stuttgart on Sunday would have been more intimidating and though they lost, they didn't freeze. German clubs play in huge atmospheric arena's all the time. Germany has several huge venue's that sell out every week. COMS will be nothing to compared to what they are used to. It's more likely the City players freeze under the pressure. But in reallity both sides have lots of experience internationals so it's unlikely either side will lose due to bottling it.

HSV will have Jarolim and Alex Silva in CM so will be very physical themselves. Jarolim makes the likes of Palcios and Scott Parker seem like they don't like a tackle. And Jol described Alex Silva as an "animal" last week. They will be all over the place trying to make sure City don't get into some sort of rythem. I think the British media and last weeks performance have given City fan a bit of a false impression of HSV. Because Jol's Spurs side were so attacking and attractive to watch the British media have just assumed the same is true of Hamburg. But in reallity thye've been incredibly scrappy all season and have got wo where they are by fighting for everything and showing real determination. Thye've improved the quality f their play in recent weeks, but they still aren't pretty to watch. Other the Trachowski, Petric and Guerro they don't really have the players to play good football. Though now they are playing Pertroipa more they do have more flair. But in general their style is more defined by the harder working though less technically gifted players such as Jarolim and Ollic.

A bloke shouting over a pa system & pop music is ok when you are winning but let's see shall we.
I'm glad you feel the way you do though.

They did go to Galatasary and win 3-2. Didnt freeze then in front of the crazy turks, so it shows they do have bottle, fight and nerves. Unfortunatly.

It also shows that they concede goals away from home !

And they proved it in the Bundesliga too ..... only Hanover have conceded more goals away from home!

Im sick of hearing how good Hamburg are. Sorry but they might have outplayed us but so did Fulham. Fulham, for fuck sake.

Hamburg are an average team from an average league. Lets not forget that we did the double over the european champions last year for god's sake.

Hamburg? Do me a favour!
