I don't know whether it's just luck of the draw but i meet fans of other clubs at away games and on holiday now who are absolutely sound with me and still like City and City fans.

Apparently when they didn't turn up last season, it.was because they were protesting against LVG - at least that's what one of them said to me.

I'm ashamed to say that all of my late dad's side of the family, apart from him, were/are all rabid rags.

They've lived around the Manchester/Salford area, all their lives, & claim to have all "avidly support(ed)" the scum since their Newton Heath days", though not one of 'em, (plus their various offspring) has, to my certain knowledge, ever been to one live game, at the sty, in all that time.

Indeed, the nearest they could get to it, were someone to ask for directions, would be to nip into their front room & point at their TV screens.

absolutely spot on. People liked us and felt sorry for us before the money came along.
i went to Greece on holiday in 2000 and i met some great football fans there, one was united, one newcastle and one Celtic. they were buying me drinks coz city were so shite. full of praise for the fans and how loyal we were and how big a club city could be. I often wonder what they think of us these days.

Its not luck just not being overly paranoid. I cant think of a single clubs fans who hate us more than United. Also I find when you break away from this silly I hate scousers/cockneys/Mancs stuff I find talking to other football fans more engaging than the majority of people I meet having a shared interest/passion.

Its also noticeable when we played West Ham 2014 Newcastle away/QPR 2012 how pleased opposition fans were for us. This everyone hates us is not reality.

Eeee,i remember after the Gillingham Play off Final.
The amount of congrats i got in the nightclub that night still in my City shirt,we were everyone's second team.
Now all i get is,Fckn Glory hunter....haha

Unfortunatly not true. Most of the press here in Malaysia print stories from UK press or totally ignore City. The press is very much focused on the scum and dippers.

It's not reality is it? If you're unfortunate enough to bump into a bitter Villa fan or the typical gobby Rag then fair enough but i've spoken to West Ham, Sunderland, Stoke fans and they've all said the same things about City. I spoke to West Ham fans a couple of years ago who said United are their local rivals as well so have always preferred City. This was post-takeover. Sunderland fans at the FL Cup final the other year were absolutely sound, to a man. Not one ounce of this so-called media brainwashed cliche spouted bullshit by a single one of them all weekend.

Well of course not every other fan of every other team hates us - that's just daft. Nearly as daft as making out that attitudes haven't changed dramatically in relation to how others now view us since the takeover.
I think you and Frank, in your rush to show how paranoid we all are these days are the ones who are off the mark. When the average tabloid reading, Talksport listening, sky sports watching supporter are spoon fed negativity on an almost daily basis in regards to us there's a drip effect that carries on into their consciousness and they can't help but believe we're the devil incarnate.

There's still plenty of free thinking football fans out there but don't kid yourself that more often than not we're the team to be sneered at.

Anything to do with attendances drives me mad. Most of it boils down to haves and have nots. Champions League prices usually means have not - as so expensive. But, we fill most gates. League Cup, above average and higher than a decade or so ago... FA Cup, fair gates. Televised games, above average... EMPTYHAD, we only get 54,040, where were you when we were sh*t? - 960 empty seats, laughable.

Loyal fans pay when they can. This TV deal money hasn't helped lower gate prices. Simple as.
