After reading various threads about what position city will finish up in and if we will indeed get that elusive champions league place i cudnt help but think about some of the better football we have played this season like fullham and west brom away .We do seem to have lost our way of late and i was thinking just how beneficial the international break may be to our beloved clubs chances.Roberto mancini has been saying that carlos tevez hasnt been able to train proper for months and because we have been playing sunday thursday for the last few months the team hasnt trained poperly in that period. This two week break could be just what we need to recharge players batteries and get back to form just in time for the crucial games we have in the run in and the big wembly semi final against the rags.i for one think we will return to form just in time to claim that elusive 4th place ahead of spurs and book our place in the fa cup final.cmmon you blues.

I hope so, especially given the manner of the defeat by Chelsea. Need time to mull things over before speeding up the gears and hopefully clinching fourth in May.

Avoiding any injuries is crucial in this break,no club would say it but they are all hoping their guys get back ok and a key player for another side picks up a knock or something.Fingers crossed.

I think so. Everybody getting away for a little while, getting some much-needed rest (tevez and yaya particularly), milner getting back into match shape, letting nigel and aj get their strength back for the run-in, aj getting some practice time under his belt, this international break couldnt have come at a better time if you ask me.

Hopefully the Bale injury will keep Spurs pinned back.....they have still got to play chelsea, liverpool and arsenal....which should help secure 4th for us....dont want another repeat of last year with them pipping us to the finish for 4th.

AJ isnt travelling i believe, which can only give him a bit more time to get fitness back.

Hope so. Anybody got a run down of our player call ups, whether they're likely to feature and against who?

I know SWP and AJ arent travelling......

there's a list of players on international duty in an article on mcfc.co.uk from yesterday or the day before (or some time this week)

Think practically everyone else fit is travelling

Found it, cheers.

City quartet Gareth Barry Joe Hart, Joleon Lescott and James Milner have joined up with the England squad for Saturday's European Championship qualifier against Wales in Cardiff.

Coach Fabio Capello has not drafted wingers Shaun Wright-Phillips and Adam Johnson this time around, while Micah Richards returns to skippering Stuart Pearce's Under-21s.

But there will be one other City player involved in the tie - Craig Bellamy, on long-term loan at Cardiff, has given up the Welsh captaincy but is recalled to the squad by new manager Gary Speed.

Yaya Toure's injury at Chelsea means he has not travelled to Ivory Coast to face Benin on Friday, but Roberto Mancini's squad are scattered far and wide on international duty.

Vincent Kompany's Belgium tackle Austria in Vienna on Friday before hosting Azerbaijan in midweek, while David Silva's Spain have a double-header against Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Aleks Kolarov will be up against Northern Ireland with Serbia in Belgrade before a midweek date with Estonia in Tallinn, and Nigel de Jong's Dutchmen face Hungary twice in five days.

Jerome Boateng is back in Germany for a qualifier with Kazahkstan in Kaiserslautern followed by a midweek friendly against Ausgtralia in Moenchengladbach.

Edin Dzeko has just one appointment for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the home qualifier against Romania, and is expected back at Carrington next Tuesday with most team-mates due on Thursday.

Captain Carlos Tevez has been spared a trip. He is exempted from Argentina's pair of friendlies - they face USA on the east coast followed by Costa Rica in midweek.
