Will the rags target Carlos?

I think they're likely to target AJ as well. Tevez is no pushover and they'll get no joy whatsoever out of Bellamy. If Ade's on good form too then it's brown shorts time for the rags.

I've just been on Sad Cafe to see what they were saying about the derby. (I have washed my hands, obviously). They seem very wary of Carlos.

What amazed me was the amount of 'let's stop City' comments. What happened to ' we've got bigger fish to fry?' What happened to 'Liverpool is our real Derby?' What happened to 'It's their cup final?'

But, it reminds me of something else I was going to post. On Saturday Fat Sam said something along the lines of the rags having blown the title by playing too many games.

When they went out to Leeds in the FA Cup, they put all their eggs in the basket of beating us in the CC cup semi final - that's why they played their No 1 starting 11 in both legs and only just squeezed through in the competition they have ranked 4th since Villa beat them 3-1 in the final in the early 90s. That's why they celebrated at knocking us out like it was the Champions League final. Injuries are startying to creep in especially amonst theri 30 somethigns like Giggs and Ratboy. They played Ferdinand against us when he was on a ban and got the ban extended by a game. The consequence was that he missed the Everton game at Goodison where they got dicked.

They did everything they could to stop us getting to the final, not least (as Fletcher said after the semi) so they could keep their stupid banner up. But has doing everything they can to stop us winning the Carling Cup cost them the title?

It's starting to look that way.

I dont think the Rags will target Carlos, They cant concentrate on marking the one man when we have other top class players that can hurt them, They will have to look out for Bellamy, A.Johnson and Adebayor ect I doubt the Rags will be looking foward to coming up against our attacking options!

Carlos openly said at the fans forum that Fergie told the players to give it shauny in that derby game and you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be telling them the same this time about Tevez

The thing is Tevez (like SWP) isn't soft and it will take more than that to take his head off the game!

I hadn't heard Carlos had said that. Shows that the rags can follow a game plan if nothing else.

The confirmation of what we always knew. He did it with Elano in the first Sven derby, too. Ironic, when you think how he whinged about the (supposed) lack of protection that refs gave to Ronaldo. Just demonstrates that he is the biggest hypocrite in football.

I have no doubt the rags will target Tevez in much the same way they targeted SWP last season.

The difference is that last season SWP was our only real threat. This season we have Bellamy, Adebayor, Johnson, SWP (probably off the bench) all of those players are capable of creating things and with Tevez in there as well we've got plenty of options, they can and will foul as much as possible, but with the more threats we have this season the more likelihood there is of one of their players getting sent off.

I think Adebayor is going to make a big difference to this derby. We've played the rags strongest line up (Rooney has played all the derby's this season) so hopefully we'll know what to expect, they are yet to face Adebayor from kick off and with his partnership with Tevez starting to look as if its coming together, this could be a key area for us to exploit.
