Will we buy a new central midfielder now Johnno's injured?

Hughes needs to change his transfer policy now - he has overpaid for a squad with Premiership experience - he now needs to take a chance on a few high potential players from France, Germany or Spain - he can afford to gamble a little and hopefully will uncover a few 'gems' a la Wenger.

We have bought up alot of talent, 15-16 year olds with bright futures, just havent gotten that much media coverage. Atleast two germans (Keeper and fullback) plus a spanish midfielder. All of them in Hughes time as Manager

The benefit of now having an experieinced squad is you can now buy the up and coming players and give them a go. He would have been sacked if he bought 12 up and coming players and only 1 was any good. I for one would like to see players become known for making a name for themselves at city.

Though he has bought a few real gems like NDJ and Vinne both of whome we got for a very reasonable price

We should have signed Kranjcar in the summer for 2.5 mill quality player. In jan we need a midfielder especially as Johnson is now injured. A player i would love to see in a city shirt would be Rafeal Van Der Vaart very good left foot. What would you think of him? Behind alonso and diarra at Real

Good post that.

I agree with nmc, we've already got the Premiership backbone now, we could really do with a flair, attacking CM from abroad somewhere. Maybe Gourcuff or that French lad who's making waves over there, whose name escapes me. Plays for Lyon, comes from Eastern Europe.

EDIT - Miralem Pjanic

Pjanic is good, i'll agree with you on that, but i feel he's to much of an attacking option for our midfield. My option would be;

MARIK HAMSIK of Napoli. This boy has everything and his progression since joining Napoli has been amazing. Im sure Vladi could have a word in his ear about joining us as they both play for the Slovakian NT

Many poster's wont be happy but I think Johnson's injury woe's open the door for Bentley, he can play in the middle, IMO he'd be a good squad player, it's just a shame he comes across as a " cockney, Danny Dyer, Pwoper nawty, loving wide boy ".
