You can see why Hughes wanted to sign a player like John Terry - because of the fighting spirit + leadership he brings to the team.
Top sides still need a Roy Keane,Vieira-in-his-prime type player who is uncompromising and leads by example.
i.e. a midfield player who not only breaks up play (like De Jong) ... but drives the team forward and stops them dropping back + inviting pressure.
Not many around in this category...but Scott Parker at W ham has done a good job in this role in a struggling team.
On point 2 - we already have that player. He's just not been given a chance to prove himself in that position, which incidentally is his best position.
