Will we win the league this season? No

That might be the case indeed.

After they lost to Villa in early April 2024, they won all remaining games.

But it's hard to predict. I think they might find it difficult vs Fulham and W Ham away, due to playing these games after the 1st and 2nd leg vs Atletico respectively.
I watched Fulham on Saturday, those players are on the beach. Arsenal will win convincingly

i'm looking at everton away and Bournemouth away as very difficult games. Run in is definitely on arsenal's side, but as we've seen before points can be dropped anywhere at this stage in the season. Doesn't matter who its against.

Assuming we reach the cup final our run in will be something like

9th Brentford H
12th Bournemouth A
16th FA cup final
19th Palace H
24th Villa H

(Europa Final is 20th; Conference is 27th I think)
Going to be a monstrous effort to win prem and FA Cup. I can’t see us winning every game. We need West Ham and Newcastle to help us. Fulham, Burnley and Palace can’t be relied on.

We have rediscovered how to win when needed. Huge improvement mentally. Past champions had it in buckets. Always found a way to get the points.

I am back to watching city with expectation. A calmness we will find a way to beat the low block and not get beat with a long ball.

Huge progress.

They could have gone 12 points clear in they won their last two league games!
True - but why do you ignore the games in hand? '12 points clear' is little more than a sound byte really - 'a minimum of 6' would have been more reflective of the true situation.

Academic now, though :-)

Hopefully his groin injury is not serious
Rodri having a scan today.

No way he’s even considered for Burnley I’d have thought even in the best case scenario. Was unlikely to play in the SF regardless so he gets two full weeks rest before Everton.

Fingers crossed it’s not too bad….

We've got tougher games than Arsenal. If you look at the home and away table for each team up to this point it's:

City - Burnley (20th), Everton (14th), Brentford (12th), Bournemouth (10th), Palace (7th), Villa (8th).
Arsenal - Newcastle (15th), Fulham (17th), West Ham (17th), Burnley (19th), Palace (15th).

But throw in two CL ties for Arsenal and that race for 6th/staying up and it could easily change the context.

Similarly, Palace and Villa for us look tricky but Palace could have the Conference final a week later depending when our game is scheduled and Villa might have just won the Europa League and be half cut still.

We seem to have switched from being sluggish second half to starting quite poorly and we are going to need the wider squad to stand up and deliver too so it's game by game for now. This side doesn't have the mental strength of previous ones, you could see the nervousness in plenty yesterday. We've got a handful of guys who can lead this team and let's hope they get us over the line.

8/11 favourites. Arsenal 13/10

My personal view is this title race is as near to 50%/50% as can be.

We've the more challenging run, with cup matches, better position mentally with momentum.
They've got 3 more points on the board, marginal goal difference advantage, a simpler run in, but with European commitments and also wandering confidence with a liberal sprinkling of nerves....

punters are jumping on us understandably, but i think this scenario is now completely in the balance if it was played over and over, 1,000 times.

Agreed well said.

People not giving us much hope reading this thread, has no one watched our last 8 seasons under Pep and how well we finish?
