Will we win the league this season? No

Still got a long way to go, but today was obviously a huge win for us and a real kick in the gut for Arsenal. At this stage of the season, psychologically results like today are massive. That could impact Arsenal massively and the 2 CL games are tough ones for them to navigate, draining games against a physical side. Let's hope we keep everyone fit, losing Rodri is a concern so let's pray it's a minor one. We've still got some tough games to play and we need to turn the goal difference favourably. A big win at Burnley will throw Arsenal a bit I think, so important we play well and win well there and then take each game as it comes after that.

One thing I will say is I dont like some of those counting their chickens already. The guy with the bottle and the selling of Arsenal bottles today I'm not into that. I know its all banter, but until were at the end, its the type of thing that can come back to bite us so save it till we win it.
I agree mate, we have never been arrogant like that. I'm not having a go at the bloke, fair play he is making the most of it. But it's just a gimmick and a bit cringeworthy for me! I was more interested in celebrating City winning at Stamford Bridge last weekend than mocking Arsenal!

I think both teams will drop points at some point, i do think the 2 games against atletico for them will work in our favour. Genuinely wouldn't be suprised if it goes down to goal difference. Could get really tense this.

Tough call we have the harder run in, Bournemouth are no mugs, the best we can hope is Madrid give them two tough games thry pick up injuries and have to rotate. I don’t expect both teams to win all games and we could end up playing if we get to fa cup final every 3 days with rearranging fixtures against palace and Bournemouth in last two weeks.

Nico O'Riley being fit is more important than Rodri at the moment

Big claim.

Rodri won 9 ground and 6 aerial duels which is about as many as Arsenal's entire midfield and many more than the other City midfielders combined.

Plus makes us tick in the middle of the park. As often happens, his work is a bit underrated.

Fortunately, Gonzalez can do a job in the next few games. But we need Rodri for Everton or at least Bournemouth away.

Its starting to build up to the plastic hair do rag ............funny last week but if it does go wrong hes gonna look a reet fooking dickhead

On paper people are saying we have the tougher run in, but we don't play on paper we play on grass. All the pundits are guessing and their biases are coming through. I'm sure City will take each game at a time. City have momentum right now. Arsenal have stuttered of late with 4 defeats in the last 6 games. We've got to beat Burnley. Then let's see what Arsenal do at the weekend. Come on City!

Least we have a chance now. It didn’t look very likely a few weeks ago.
I thought we had zero chance 4 weeks ago. Credit to Pep and his staff for how they've rebuilt this team to be able to challenge for the league title. Cherki, O'Reilly, Khusanov have been revelations. The whole first 11 look great right now. Big improvement on last season, Pep has really turned it around.

We should win it from here but I think both us and arsenal will drop points before the end of the season. Those athletico games for arsenal give them an extra headache. Im looking at their west ham away game after the second leg as one where they could blow it (fingers crossed).

I remember beating them in the League Cup Final and hoping that it might break Arsenal's self-confidence. They are now on a run of1 win in their last 6 games in all comps.

Never doubted we had a chance to win the title. Even wrote in this thread in the summer that we'd have a slow start but become the best team in England come the spring and could win it if we were within 6-7 pts off Arsenal in February, which we were. Even after W Ham away we were potentially just 3 pts off Arsenal after the game at the Etihad with them with 5-6 games to go.

A lot to do still. Rodri is important and we may have serious difficulties in some games if he isn't available in most of the remaining weeks. His presence/absence might be the difference between us winning it or not.

It's in our hands, that's more than we could have hoped for a few weeks ago. It's going to be a rollercoaster.
But it isn't. Neither team can guarantee the title no matter if they win every game. This could very easily come down to goal difference, and there's even one final possibility, that goes in our favour: If GD is level, it goes to head to head results and thus we'd win the title.

I got some comments yesterday mentioning Arsenal's run-in being easier than ours, and it is by quite some distance. The highest place team they have to play are Fulham in 12th. I honestly don't seem them droping any more points.

This will almost certainly go to the final day, and we could all be in fr another 93:20 scenario. I say bring it on.

They didn’t play like a team with low confidence yesterday. If they play like that in the CL they have a chance to win it.

But City are on form. Imo, we'd have made it very difficult for Madrid to survive had we avoided that situation with the red card. But maybe we wouldn't have been fresh enough to beat both Chelsea and Arsenal had we played two games with Bayern... Losing the tie against Madrid might have been a blessing in disguise.
