Will we win the league this season?

In fairness, I also thought they’d win it. My logic was that they’d won games despite playing badly.

Eventually they will turn it around and play well, but now, after four defeats, they might have left it too late.

Maybe Isak coming in has unsettled the team? Given his attitude at Newcastle I doubt he’s some inspirational team player.

In the first 2 months of this season, Salah has been nothing like the player from the first 6 months of last season where he saved them time and again with goals and assists. Plus, Diaz was fantastic for them last season too. I rate Gakpo, he's a good player, but he isn't a proper winger. Diaz is a big loss.

I wil be very surprised if Arsenal don’t win it but I think we will be second and 2 players away from winning it next year.
Remember, you are talking about the serial bottlers. We will see what they are made of when the pressure is on, 8 games in is not pressure, 8 games to go, that is. If they pull ahead with a commanding lead like Liverpool in 19/20 (who also dropped off towards the end, 4-1 anyone?) they will win it. If we are within 3 points with 8 games to go the PTSD will kick in and the master will once again beat his apprentice.

It has the feel of the Leicester season where all the big boys aren't at their best and there are dropped points everywhere. Its an opportunity for someone to take. Let's hope its us.

I thought it unsettled Isak at least.

They looked like 2013/14 Liverpool at the start of the season, who tended to score loads but concede 2 goal a game, which is where their problem is.

An interesting and encouraging fact from MOTD 25th October.

I think this graphic is supposed to represent the youngest sides in the league.

One big advantage that City have over Chelsea is that we have more leaders like Donnarumma, Dias, Rodri and Haaland. Chelsea have some experienced players but they are not like City.

What a turnaround :-)

That suggests we're not one of the big boys and if we were to win it this season it would be a freak occurrence and a fluke.

A more accurate take would be let's REALLY hope it's not the rags who do a Leicester.

It doesnt suggest that, i said its an opportunity for someone. Just because it was Leicester last time is irrelevant. A City or Scouse team from previous years would piss this league.

Still think its Arsenals to lose this season. Best defence, goals galore from set pieces and a very good squad.
We have been a little fortunate in some games ie 2nd half v Brentford, Everton missing chances so dint think we are there yet especially as we lack goals all over the pitch bar Haaland.

We were a bit unfortunate vs Spurs and Brighton, so things even out. Plus, we were without Donna, Gvardiol, Foden, Rodri vs Spurs, and without Donna, Gvardiol, Dias at Brighton. Now we are a different team.

Arsenal have scored about 5 goals from open play. They are great at set pieces, that helps a lot, but it may not be enough ultimately. They are favourites, but it's closer than many think.

People always say it has a Leicester season feeling at this time of year, all the clubs have dropped points and don't look their best etc, but there was a reason why that season was 5000/1. I don't for a second think it's wide open for anyone to win it. Arteta, bottle job that he is, has too much experience, depth and strength to not win the title if we don't match their pace. Arsenal will pull away and we will do our best to keep up with them, and if we are ~5 at the end of January we'll have a decent chance.

Arsenal have dropped points only at Liverpool and vs City, so the feeling that the race is wide open isn't based on facts. Only injury crises can stop Arsenal and arguably City from winning 85+ pts this season.

Still think Arsenal are going to do it and imo they'll do it relatively easy.

We're playing better but we need to be consistent for 90 minutes. Too many times we've stopped playing. Feel we're another 12 months away and will fall short. Hope I'm wrong.
Being consistent for one half this season is a massive improvement on no halves like last season! Whilst I agree we will be much better next season I feel a lot more confident than you that we have enough to see this season over the line. We have Cherki and Marmoush waiting in the wings, Foden coming back into form, Rodri reaching full fitness, there will be improvement all over the pitch. Arsenal just have what they are currently showing, they are relying on a strong defence and scoring the 1 or 2 they need for the 3 points. We nearly pulled off a victory at their gaff despite less recovery from our champions league exploits and they still have to come to our place.
