Will we win the league this season?

I can’t see it. Still questions over our back four. Can’t keep our CBs fit (when they are they’re as good as anyone,) not sure we have fullbacks who can defend. The vulnerabilities of last season won’t have disappeared so quickly I fear.

We won everything with Ederson and pace is a bit overrated (in England).

Walker was mostly on the bench when we were winning the Treble, including vs Bayern who had very quick forwards and were great on the counter.

The ability to read the game and positioning are more important. Nobody today remembers Maldini and Baresi for their pace, both were slower than Nunes...
Baresi was my favourite defender of all time he read a game perfectly.

Absolutely not if we don’t get a top class RB. I think it’s going to be a battle for the top 4 this season as Liverpool, Arsenal (this week) and Chelsea have all drastically improved and were ahead of us last season? Our signings are excellent signings but we don’t have that RB we desperately need and Pep still hasn’t addressed us getting counter attacked to death on has he? There is still concerns that Akanji, Bernardo and Gundogan start big games as well which would make the younger signings that we made if January and Cherki this summer kinda pointless for a season?

Most of that is just imagination, why would Pep not have addressed counter attacks, he's spent his whole coaching career doing just that, as Pep 2 has also. The concerns about Akanji and Gundogan again only in posters heads. Our signing are of a similar quality to liverpools and better than arsenals. Chelsea were not better than us last season and aren't now, plus the CWC will catch up with them.RB may or may not happen and may or may not make the difference.

As from today Chelsea will win it.
Until the dippers beat Palace in charity shield then Liverpool will be champions.
Then it will be us after we beat Wolves, for a day, until Arsenal beat the rags a day later to become favourites.

Well that's how pundits like Alan Shearer work.
Easy money

We gonna be much better, whether its gonna be enough time will tell.

Last season been relatively weak, but still we finished 3rd in extremely competitive league and played FA CUP final.

There are always many reasons behind a team playing below its potential, but to me, the main ones are clear and have little to do with Pep's selection or wrong tactics or his divorce:

1. A dip was always going to come eventually after winning the league four times in a row. You can't replace every player perfectly, one-to-one, every single time. It's unrealistic to expect long-serving players to maintain 100% focus and commitment through multiple grueling seasons without ever dropping off. Even machines need rest and sometimes reset.

2. Losing Rodri was like losing both the brain and engine of the team—and defensively, he's just world-class like nobody else (maybe Rice and Caicedo in PL, but they defo are worse attacking wise). He was ruled out just after the transfer window closed, so you couldn’t even react until January.

3. Injuries were frequent, recurring, and they disrupted the squad's rhythm. Stones and Aké were out more often than they were available. Bobb looked like a generational talent but missed the entire season. Ironically, had Bobb been fit, we might have seen more from Savinho. De Bruyne, Grealish, Akanji, Foden were in and out during the first half of the season—no time to build form or continuity.

4. The defensive line and holding midfield were especially shredded. Pep will never compromise on his core principles—maintaining possession, playing offensively—and rightly so. Over time, compromising that would hurt both the philosophy and performance. But you can’t have your cake and eat it too: you can't expect to control games in the Premier League or Champions League with a high-possession style and avoide dangerous turnovers if your backline and holding midfield isn't top-tier (Kovacic been good, even superb towards the end of the season though).

It was a down season overall, yet we still created plenty. The real issue was at the back. I have zero doubts we gonna have much better results this season, the hunger gonna be back as well.

I think Arsenal finally do it. They had the best defence last season with Saliba and Gabriel before the injuries. Attack just let them down in too many games especially against Liverpool, with Gyokeres you've got the finisher to put the ball in the net. Midfield is solid Rice , Zubimendi and Odegaard. Full backs are solid, they finally have enough to do it.

I think we'll be competitive, i like the look of the players we've brought in this summer but i still think we're short of a couple of really top class players.

I could end up looking silly, but think Gyokeres could end up like Nunez, not sure he's the answer for them.

Now or never for Arsenal now they have Gyokeres.

Arteta will have to walk or be sacked if they don't win a major this season.

Chelsea for me still don't look a title team. They have always been more of a cup team ever since the 90s. It astonishes me they have only won 5 titles in the 22 years since Roman took over. They have more European honours than league titles.
