Will we win the league this season?

We have 10 points from 6 games which is nothing to write home about but at the same time I think expectations are rising.

Foden is back to his best and Doku is probably the best wide forward in the Premier League right now. Khusanov and O'Reilly look very strong too.

The risks are injury to key players like Rodri, Doku and Haaland. We don't have the cover that Arsenal have.

Our form was very good when Marmoush played in the 9 when Haaland was injured last season.

We have a better starting 11 than Arsenal? Im not sure about that, haven't seen anything from this season to think so.
Genuine world class players.

We have 3 Rodri, Haaland, Donnarumma
Liverpool have 3 Salah, Van Dijk, Alisson
Arsenal have zero

And before anyone tries to say oh but what about Declan Rice or Saka….then no just stop. The players aforementioned have won the biggest trophies, performed in huge matches and genuinely have the accolades both team wise and personal to back up being labeled as world class. These are the kind of guys you want to run out alongside you and will give you the edge in that title run in where you can’t drop a point in your 5-6 remaining matches.

As the saying goes you can't win the league in September but you can lose it. We've not lost it, and all the favourites have significant flaws, and there really are some difficult games up and down the league. If we are ~5 points at Christmas and we look like we have clicked then who knows.

Between 17/18 and 22/23 seasons - proper Pep's era with Pep's teams - we had 15 wins and one loss vs Arsenal. Since then as un-Pepping of the team began, it is 3 losses and three draws and this is where we are right now.
Arsenal werent half the team they are now though

Our form was very good when Marmoush played in the 9 when Haaland was injured last season.

Marmoush is our best presser by far, but he's not a winger.

He can work as a striker, a second striker, a 10, an 8, a free role but one of the major problems facing our team is how Pep integrates him into our side because although he works/ pairs exceedingly well with Erling.. Pep doesn't seem to prefer a 4-4-2..

We are also waiting on the 115 decision . That could impact not only us but other teams seasons.

If the decision goes our way I think the team will have some revenging to do.

If it goes against, and we are then waiting the sanction hearing things might go sour for us this year.

Not if Rodri is out again for a sustained period. Apparently reporting a lot of pain in his knee.

If that's another injury then we can wave goodbye to a title charge.

Who is Genuine world class or not I don’t know. But football is a team game not individuals. I haven’t seen any outstanding teams so far this year however.
It could be like the Leicester season and up for grabs by any of a number of teams

Football is a team game however it does help if you have those 2 or 3 players in your team who just have that extra bit of quality especially in a tight race when there is zero margin for error.

People are underestimating the Donnaruma effect.

The vast vast majority of games we’ve lost in the pep era (last season’s meltdown aside) we were much the better side but didn’t capitalise on our chances. That was costly because Eddie, for all his qualities, was not an elite shot stopper.

Now we have a guy who’s the best pure keeper in the league, we won’t be dropping points in games where we’ve had 25 attempts and the opposition have had 2

The facts are there is only ONE fixture left this season where we won’t be considered favourites to get the win. And that is Anfield away. Every other match if we play anywhere near our best we would expect to emerge victorious (yes I’m including home fixtures against Liverpool & Arsenal in that)

The league is much stronger now than in 2016, including the top teams. Only severe injury crises in the top 3 teams from last season could make the league up for grabs, but it's highly unlikely to happen. Spurs might be a dark horse, but I doubt it.

You forgot Spurs away!

I was trying to make a case for us winning the league because we are definitely not as good as we were back then
