Will we win the league this season?

Burnley’s Esteve is our current second top scorer in all competitions behind Haaland. During our title winning seasons we had numerous goalscorers with around 4/5 getting over 10 goals in the premier league alone. We need other players to step up the goal returns big time.

Last nights draw to Monaco doesn’t happen if we kill them off but we can’t expect Haaland to score two goals every game, well maybe we can actually haha, but we need everyone else chipping in more!!

Its not that hilarious. Its only been about 10 games. We're still top scorers in the league. Marmoush and Cherki have been injured. It could be worse we could have Etitike or Gargoyles up front instead.

On that basis all the top sides would be putting 4 or 5 past all the bottom sides every week. We all know it doesn't work like that, it's not a game where you can plan and play the perfect strategy like chess or something with a guaranteed outcome if you make certain moves or plays yet that's what most fans seem to expect.

Exactly. It's absolutely staggering that we're a team in genuine contention based on results of our own and our competitors so far, especially considering how many points Liverpool have scabbed far (didn't they lose in the CL this week?) and we've scored more and concede less yet a large chunk of our fans on here just can't see it and seem to think we're trying to avoid relegation from some of the comments they come out with.

This is the Champions League. There are no easy away games in the CL. It's not the Europa League where half the sides are demotivated. We should have won. We were the dominant side but we were too cautious and suffered for it at the end.

I think what is significant about City's early season form is that we have taken up where we left off last season, and we are improving as the form of individual players like Foden and Doku improves.

I would expect City fans to be encouraged by this but this forum is suffocated by stupid people or people on a mission.

Monaco aren’t a good side they were also supposedly missing 8 first team players. I agree with you 100% that we were dominant but too cautious that’s our problem same against Brighton we need to go kill the game when we are 1 goal up. Instead we pass pass pass pass without going anywhere. Against Brighton they made 3 subs and from that moment it was game over and against Monaco they got lucky late on. Only ourselves to blame. I’m surprised and delighted at the improvement in Doku take Haaland out of the picture and he’s our player of the season so far. Pep has seemed to let him take the handbrake off maybe he should do it with a few other instead of it all being about control. Monaco is a team we should be going all out attack against if Savhino is as good as the club thinks he should have been starting instead of Bernardo if not Bobb.
 
We will be right up there come the end of season.the quality of teams in this league is the strongest it's ever been imo,
I reckon 80 points can win it this year.
Every away game is tough to get 3 points.where a few years ago you expect to win against the bottom half.
 
I've started preparing myself mentally for an Arsenal title win so if/when it happens, I won't be depressed.

We’re bringing it home, I’ve seen enough.

I actually put a tenner on us winning the league and CL after we smashed Juve in the CWC, but then we crashed out to a Saudi team and lost 2 of our opening 3 league games.

But I’m won back round. If we’re no more than 3-6 points behind the leaders come Christmas, we’ll do a madness second half of the season once everybody has bedded in.
