Will we win the league this season?

It’s all about where we are sitting when the pressure kicks in. The only way I see Arsenal winning this title is if they do what Liverpool did last season and build an insurmountable lead. If we are hot on their tails heading into the final third of the season they are in trouble.

No and on the way we are playing we dont deserve to.....

Arsenals to lose imho

Hopefully some underdog comes forward and does a leicester as that would be incredibly funny with the ensuing meltdown from the Arsenal fans

We should be squarely focused on just staying in front of our own performances last year to make sure we're moving in the right direction. People forget we were only 13 points off the pace last year, we're not miles away. And we are currently doing drastically better versus the same fixtures last year.

Equivalent fixtures last season (Leicester swapped for Burnley):
Wolves (A) 1-2 Win
Spurs (H) 0-4 Loss
Brighton (A) 2-1 Loss
United (H) 1-2 Loss
Arsenal (A) 5-1 Loss
Leicester (H) 2-0 Win
Brentford (A) 2-2 Draw

7 Points
Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 4, Scored 9, Conceded 16, GD -7

This season:
Wolves (A) 0-4 Win
Spurs (H) 0-2 Loss
Brighton (A) 2-1 Loss
United (H) 3-0 Win
Arsenal (A) 1-1 Draw
Burnley (H) 5-1 Win
Brentford (A) 0-1 Win

13 Points
Won 4, Drawn 1, Lost 2, Scored 15, Conceded 6, GD +9

Next 5 fixtures (Last season's result):
Everton (H) (1-1 Draw)
Aston Villa (A) (1-2 Loss)
Bournemouth (H) (3-1 Win)
Liverpool (H) (0-2 Loss)
Newcastle (A) (1-1 Draw)

So just 2 wins out of the next 5 will see us continue to open up the gap on our results last season.

I have already said yes on this thread, can I say yes again? 3 points off top in October with the best manager of all time and players coming back to fitness? Still 9/2 apparently. Printing money.

We would be top of the league now if we held on against Arsenal. They had 2 days rest on us that week in the Champions League and we had to travel to London! They should have beaten us and they know it!

Them being favorites will not do them any favors. Pressure does weird things.

I always think whoever plays first in the title run in has a big effect. City used to thrive by playing must win games (after our title rivals had won either before we kicked off). I honestly don't think that Arsenal have a that mentality! Arteta is to emotional, you need calm heads in a title run in!

I reckon we’ve more than a punchers chance, had we hung on at the emirates we’d be top, how ludicrous is that ? Good signs today in terms of digging it out, Pep loves to know we’re capable of that earlier in the season. Our main issues are Rodri, although I like how Nico is performing, a specialist RB, and our winger output, if we fixed 2/3 of those I’d back us to win it

The pressure on Arsenal is going to be like nothing ever seen before but it is up to us to make sure that it is applied to them.

Please stop this last season comparative nonsense.

Said we needed to keep in reasonable distance come the second international break. Landmark achieved. Also closer than I hoped wanted 5 points….
Third break is the key one I think. We need 10 points from the four games in the bext section section. If so we can start to dream.

The ones giving 9/2 now giving 4/1 as predicted yesterday if we won.

Currently 9/2 with some bookies

That's generous odds, considering what Pep's teams have done in the last 8 seasons
Have you lumped? I'm not tempted. The key moments in the 2nd half were Donnarumma cleaning up after bad defending. Still 3rd looking most likely.

Why don't we deserve to win it? we are the top scorers in the league and the only team to score and take points at the Emirates this season.

We cant catch a break with injuries so far!

City have been the most in form team after the last international break: 10 pts and +8 GD ahead of Arsenal with 10 pts and +6 GD.

I think City can improve a lot, not sure about Arsenal.

We definitely need to have more of a cutting edge to our play but as long as we keep getting wins that might come in time.

I think we're still a bit short on confidence after last year but once the players start believing you never know.

What's good is our back line looks tons better, we have a keeper that makes big saves and big Erl is banging in the goals.

All the ingredients are there, but we need that feeling of something special being built.

Fuck me, you must be terrible company on a night out.

I have a good feeling about this squad. They know how to scrap as well as play. We will play our best after Christmas as usual. We have a great chance of winning more trophies this season. We are defending very well.

I think Arsenal have scored and taken points at the Emirates in their games against bottom feeder Leeds, Forest and West Ham. Or do you mean getting one point more than those three is big achievement?

Why would we or any team deserve to win it after 7 games, especially in 5th? You don't win anything after 7 games, so it is true we don't deserve to win it. Ask a stupid question.
