Well for the fans of the greedy six it will have a negative effect for watching premier league games as it doesn’t matter what happens in the premier league now as long as you finish above 17th.

For the fans of Leicester, West Ham, Everton, Leeds etc it has a negative effect as no matter what they do they won’t be allowed to compete against the best.
One assumes these clubs could potentially take part via one of the 5 rotating spots?

I can’t wait for the inaugural season when they have to invite 5 Chinese clubs to take part, because every team in Europe that gets “invited to take part based on achievements” says “do one you soulless cretins”. Ashamed.
But what if those five Chinese sides hover up the best of the remaining playing talent in Europe?

Short sighted.

The money is in sponsorship and tv where you get commercial breaks and advertising.
However, the product is actually dependant on the fans.

I cannot see the attraction in playing teams around Europe and possibly elsewhere.
Without competition it becomes a circus.
It is not the USA where franchises are the norm and WWE is considered a sport.

Fair to say I was pretty angry / emotional / upset last night about this.

Having slept on it I can now say that I'm just angry about this.

I can't get emotional / upset about something I don't really care about and in one fell swoop that's what City have managed to do.... make me not care about the club I used to love so much :-(

It wont go through in the guise they are suggesting but it will box eufa into a corner to reform the current comp into a very similar format.

it wont be for me.

pheonix club anyone?

i dont suppose ill ever stop being a city fan whatever happens but itll definitely push me away as a match going fan

What a farce, timing is beyond belief, the board is beyond belief.
This is a possible catalyst for our club.
The fact we have agreed could effect current players, future players, sponsors, season tickets, kit sales etc etc.
It worries me that fan backlash against our own board could be seen as not backing them, that in turn could lead to a walk away type situation.
A possible ban on international involvement is massive to players, surely it’s not a choice of money over national pride, for eg has kdb just signed a contract in full knowledge he’d be finished with Belgium.
reading this morning they’d be a transfer ban on all clubs involved, how the fuck do you create a super league without the worlds best talent, what a shitstorm

Seems strange giving your post a like. I’m in the same position and there’s nothing I like about it at all.

It seems clear to me there are going to be two products. One global product for the subscription market who just want to buy a mail order shirt and be a keyboard fan. Then there will be everything left behind by this abomination. The match attending fan.
