It was a serving master class from Federer. He had been playing outstanding tennis throughout the tournament with his service and footwork. So it was always going to be tough for Andy.
But what Murray fans like myself was asking of Murray is that he serves well, moves his feet and keeps his mental composure.
Murray served pretty well in this match and to be honest did not play badly at all.
What I did not expect or know going into this match is the incredible ability of Federer to read, return and nullify Andy's serve. Not only did Federer serve like a superhuman, he also returned incredibly especially in the second set and I for one was not expecting that.
So the difference in this match was the inability of Murray, who is one of the best returners in the game, to read Federer serve; he just could not get anywhere near it whereas Federer was able to work out Murray's.
Based on all that Murray did well and had to fight at times to keep it that close but as I said, He had little chance against the GOAT who was serving and returning like you've never seen.
Disappointed with the result but I cannot be too down because sometimes you have to raise you hand and say ''too good'', which Federer was today.
It will be interesting to see how Djokovic handles this Federer serve or whether Federer can carry this serving into the final.
I assure you, if Federer serves like that or if anyone serves like that for that matter, the opponent has no chance.
