I know there are going to be a lot of ups and downs, and that the performance today was poor, but at last we can look at the League table with hopeful eyes towards that 7th spot, and possibe European football

Assuming the rags win the League cup (Looking very likely, they just don't conceed) and then a top 6 team wins the FA cup we are set.

Wasn't long ago everyone was saying we needed to win the FA cup to get in Europe. So long as the scum win the League cup (sadly, we have to hope they do), we'll be in with a great chance if we can do 7th. After Everton, all the teams beat each other every week. Won't take a big total to finish 7th, last year we were 9th with 55pts, a lesser total than that will be good enough.

Don't forget that only five teams have lost more than us. Hardly Europe bound quality.

There's only 6 teams who have won more than us, there's only 1 team who has scored more than us.

The only stat that matters is the one that determines where you are in the table - points.

Who cares exactly how many times we've won lost or drawn. We've got enough point to be 9th with a game in hand over everyone.

Our 2nd half of the season will be much better than the first and though we'll be a fair way off 6th, we'll be comfortably 7th. We'll win the odd away game here and there and win most of our very easy run of home games.
