I want the cup for obvious reasons, day out at wembley, for all my generation that have waite too long, for all the kids so they can have the memory I had in 76 and to shut those red bastards up.
However I think a Champions league place might well offer us far more in the long run, its the one missing piece we can't give the top top players out there who may well look at coming here. Ultimately a Champions league place might considerably speed up this project into Premiership dominance and a league title.

Spot on, the Carling Cup although nice, is in the grand scheme of things of no relevance to where we want to be.

It has to be the Champs League - if we get in that we have a realistic chance of winning the League Cup, FA Cup, and Premiership next year because there wouldn't be a player on the planet who we couldn't have a realistic chance of signing next summer if we continue spunking the cash around as well as being able to offer CL football.
