The other thing that my brother and me were talking about as well, no doubt in the summer we'll make another 4 or 5 signings coupled with the four this January that's a possible 8 or 9 new players by the start of next season. Add to that Kompany, Robinho Ireland etc, Competition for places is going to be fierce next season!

decent LB.?????
errrrm stokes goal????
errrrm newcastles goal????
errrrm has he even passed to a player wearing the same colour shirt yet?????
and dont give me the time to fit in crap? if hes decent he should be able to do these simple things. why would chelsea a top team let him go?
Micah was at much fault for Stokes goal as Bridge. He's played 3 first team matches in months for fuck sake, takes time especially for a role like LB. I'm surprised he's even match fit. He's worked his bollocks off every game for us so far.

Chelsea let him go because they have Ashley cole. Simple as. They've reserve players that would get into first teams up and down the country. For fuck sake they had SWP sitting on the bench for months too.

look at all the good teams, all the top teams in any league, and there is a spine to them. which includes a top drawer centre-half. something we dont have and are clearly missing. success isnt gonna be built on our shaky, rabbit in the headlights defence. if you are all honest you must feel whenever a team comes into our final third you expect a goal.
.
I didn't last season, and I doubt you did either. Surely it's not the players fault if they can be the best defensive pairing one season and shite the next?

We have done really well...a striker that no-one wanted and no-one can stand....a midfielder we didnt need...and an ageing goalkeeper that will stunt the progress of potentially the best keeper we have ever had. No wonder the owners would not give the welsh goon any more to spend today.

we've just signed a decent striker, a top class goalkeeper thats played in europe and the world cup, a leg breaker of a DM and a decent LB.

why are you complaining?

I guess because the main area that needs looking at, has been overlooked. Although we shouldn't be that fucking surprised. Any manager that can bring defenders on when we are losing, can easily forget to get backup for Dunne and Richards. Anyway, you're right, what are we complaining for, it's not like we leak goals is it, eh?

Sorry mate, top class keepers can carry on at the top level till their late 30s,
Dino Zoff won the world cup aged 40.
Shay Given is one of the best around. Joe has plenty of time to progress.

Because he doesn't know what he's talking about

Kompany is a cventre-half, who may well take Dunne's place now that De Jong has been signed.

If we'd have signed a 5th or 6th player in Janaury we''d have been in danger of becoming a circus act. Will take time to bed these players in, and the more new players, the bigger the short term problem

I don't understand why so many fans think Richards is inadequate. where were they when everyone was raving about him, and we were fighting off interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd?

Firstly, Richards is a decent player that shouldn't be playing in the middle for me.

Kompany may well play at centre half, but don't you think that as he is one of the only fucking players doing a decent job at the moment, that it would have been easier to buy a new centre half and keep him doing what he is doing well? Then De Jong has to fight for his place. FFS. This manager could shot Robby and there would be justification for it by some people on here.

The OP is spot on for me, and I agree with the comment that a target man is needed, but no, as usual, MH sees a different game than I do. Add more weight to an already decent midfield that will soon have another 2 players to add to it, replace one player that actually needed replacing in defence with Bridge, then sign a very average 'mate', to lend some support to him in the dressing room. Bonkers.

He's made two mistakes, but he hadn't played regular football for a few months, so give the guy a chance before getting on his back.

Fuckin moron.
PINPOINT BALL TO ROBINIHO?????? WAS FUCKING BEHIND HIM. IF IT WASNT FOR THE BOYS GREAT FIRST TOUCH
