constantly having problems with it. Think my Laptop is broke. I always have 2 important updates that always fail anyway and on shutting down I can have from 2 to 4 updates happening each time,
No knew version of itunes ever downloads now either. Nor does Divx or any messenger.
Too dumb on computers to find out whats up.

Don't know about he other issues, but on my lappy, windows live update appears on every startup, I have looked into it and it appears that messenger will not update because it will only update if it detects that windows firewall is running, I have Norton internet security 2012 and it will not allow me to run windows firewall. Bloody microshaft, only allowing updates if you are using their software exclusively.

Remove norton, pm me for proper antivirus that updates when your ready. Use win firewall as it is now not just a useless piece of crap and works reasonably well.

@ tricky run this tool please, then it should update fine with no errors.

It is a common error with sp1 corrupting the .net

I am using windows firewall. I have avast as my antivirus but nothing on it suggests that has a firewall setting.

Have you tried re-formatting it?? If not then connect your External to your PC then right click the drive on "My Computer" then select format it'll give you a drop down menu to select the capacity! You'll rarely get the full 3TB but should get somewhere around 2.80TB..

God knows what's going on there then if it's not software or hardware then I'm stumped! I'm sure TCIB will know what to do!

didactic, do you have any raid software or hard raid cards ?. I assume the disk is a wd caviar green ?
Not had this issue with mine so i you either have fucked up raid or some daft factory settings.

Can you run this tool on the disk and give us screenshots of the summary of the hdd please.
