Hmm, maybe I should have checked this out before my recent red wine purchase. Yes, it's the Apothic ! Tastes like shit apparently
Now I have to decide, do I just tip it down the sink ? Give it as a gift to someone I don't like ? Or hold my nose and sup it anyway ?

There seems to be a never ending supply of sour grapes for this young vintage. The media cant stop talking about it.

Goes well with a Scandinavian stew.

We had Aldi’s last year. Might try the Costco one. Bloody love the stuff, an expensive habit!

Aldi do some surprisingly good wines.

Their Crement d’Alsace Brut Rose bubbly (I don’t even usually like rose) is proper nice.

Barolo is a great wine. Love it with a roast beef Sunday dinner, steak or bolongese.

Don’t know what my favourite is. Maybe Boasso which I had once?

Special occasions Margaux or Pauillac

Pauillac is easily my fave but it is incredibly expensive nowadays. Several other St Emillions are cheaper and not bad at all.

I love Italian wines. I used to go to a different region of Italy every year and tour the vineyards and there were some very fun tastings after.

I'm not what you'd call a wine snob. Basically, why spend £10 on a bottle when you can get equally pissed on a £5 bottle?

Spent a week last year in Tuscany for my brother-in-law’s 60th, he’s got a few quid and had hired a huge mansion for a load of us to go over. Now he’s a proper wine buff, irritating in some ways, but hat off he knows his shit. I’d never heard of a Brunello until then, which is from the region of Tuscany we were at. He’d bought fucking loads of the stuff and had it brought into the house. I’ve never drank as much red wine in that week in my life, it was never ending.

Have to say, if anyone fancies a splurge and you’re a fan of a Barolo, then it’s worth giving it a whirl. Cheapest you can get it over here appears to be around £30 a bottle but it’s certainly not one you see readily around.

There can be only one.. this has been my favourite for a while. When I was in Spain I actually didn’t mind a lot of the lower priced reds, there’s some belters for under 5euros. But I’m back to Mexico tomorrow and it’s hard to come by so one last tipple.
