Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Bobb is going to be most intriguing. He has not really ever had a run and has certainly never been a starter for a period. He looked a bit off the pace for me today but I am looking forward to seeing what he does this season.
He'd be ok if only he had some confidence on the ball...

His timing of the pass and decision making based on that is leagues ahead of all our other wingers.

*lol* In my defence I’ve spent more of the close season in hospitals and attending doctors appointments than taking much notice of player photos! (Can’t you see the violins) ;-) :-)
I know the feeling Eccles. I’ve been up hill and down dale to fulfil medical appointments all year. Drives me bonkers. Next appointment for my spine………a waiting list…..December 23, jeez.
Seems like the only solution is to shuffle off this mortal coil before it falls apart!

yep everyone feels so much better!! Just wonder what the pre match thread moaners - who called the team 'shite' -are doing now???? you know, those 'fans' who know better than Pep.. They know who they are!!
You are being polite calling them 'moaners'

That pre match thread (indeed, the match thread in the first half) was ridiculous. But par for the course on here, unfortunately. We mock the dips, Tarqs and rags for being entitled. There's a section of our fanbase (at least the online mob) who aren't much better if we're being honest. They want/expect/demand excellence for the whole 90 minutes. In every game. Sorry, but football doesn't work like that.

No complaints, but we still need to sort out the defence. Better teams will score against us, but hopefully once all our midfielders and midfielders are match-fit, and maybe get Donnarumma in, we look good so far. I said this last season too though
Didn’t we just get a clean sheet? Wolves didn’t trouble us too much at all

Also after watching that performance wouldn’t you want Trafford starting next game. He was excellent

Good performance considering it was a team that had barely played together before with not many pre-season games and everyones’ match legs not being there yet - which you could tell second half as we looked a bit tired out of possession.

Wolves played into our hands a bit by being open and trying to play football and attack, which meant we had more of an open field to play in. But pretty much everyone played well for us.

Trafford looks very classy and calm. Came for crosses, made a few decent saves and distributed the ball excellently - that pass for our third goal was inch perfect medium length to Reijnders to set up the attack was Ederson quality.

Stones was excellent, especially his block then playing their lad offside within about ten seconds of each other in the first half when Wolves were on top. If only he’d been available for more games across his decade with us, he’d go down as an all-time great centre back.

Doku struggled a bit but credit to their full back who played well against him. But Lewis, Dias, Nico, Ait-Nouri, Bernardo, Haaland and Bobb all good… then Reijnders was top class!

Good start, will be much more difficult next week though.

I said pre match I didn't know what to expect from a much changed City side trying to gel together, but that went much better than I could have hoped.
All the goals were superb and as for Reijnders, what a player. Everybody played well, even the subs. Just think.we hopefully have Rodri, Gvardiol and Foden to come back too. Happy days.

Wolves weren't the most difficult opponents we're gonna face, but you can only beat what's put in front of you, and it was a really professional performance from City ....... okay it took the Wolves disallowed goal to wake us up, but to then hit them with a rapid 'double whammy' from Haaland and Reijnders knocked the stuffing out of them and we never really looked back after that.

A great three points away from home on the opening day of the season, four goals sored, and a 'clean sheet' kept too .... it doesn't get any better than that!

Rico proving that he's learned fck all from his sending off In America by getting into a row with that Wolves lad, but you can't have everything ....and he didn't do badly today apart from that!
