This weekend only one Premier league team managed to receive more yellow cards than their opponent despite committing less fouls. Guess who!

It was the Australian - Liverpool supporting referee, Gillet. He showed great leniency to Wolves players at times. Gonzales in particular took one or two hefty challenges that merited a yellow, imo.

Great start to the 25/26 Season, it will take the first nine to ten games before we know the best partnerships in defence midfield and up front. Change of goal keeper will determine how we play from the back.

I'd add to that - Haaland running onto the ball, not just receiving it to feet, surrounded by 2 or 3 defenders.

Thought the whole game was a breath of well needed fresh air. Sat too many at home games lately just wishing someone would run fwd, maybe even pass fwd at times, almost like they’ve been reigned in, so it’s great to see players taking a risk. When was the last time we’ve seen players really enjoying the football? constant, powerful runs? The ball properly lobbed up the field from the goalkeeper on a regular basis was also a welcome sight, at least you have a 50/50 chance two thirds up the field, rather than a 50/50 chance of bundling it on the edge of your own box, or putting yourself under unnecessary pressure. The goals were real class, a true joy to watch. It’s early days, but I can honestly say I’m really excited about getting to the Etihad this year, and witnessing some fantastic football again! C’mon the Blues!!!
