Tough call.
I would play last night's starting eleven.

Savinho, Doku, Reijnders...
Lots of bench options. I see no reason to play players with niggles or knocks.

Trafford
Lewis
Khush
Stones
Ait- Nueri
Nico
Cherki
Tijjani
Bobb
Haaland
Marmoush

Nunes has bottled every wolves game due to the abuse so Lewis gets the nod and also due to his performance yesterday

no reason to change the CB pairing Nico has to play imho. as he is more mobile than gundo, and Judge Reijnders and Cherki a must, Bobb deserves a start but for more solidity could easily play Berny deplyed deeper and centraly and push Cherki forward.

Marmoush had a quiet game but starts over O'Reilly or doku for me but if not O'Reilly in

Ederson
Lewis
Stones
Dias
Ait Nouri
I think he will play Gundo at 6 for control but we will be suspect to transition with him there
Reijnders
Cherki
Bernardo (captain)
Bobb
Haaland

I really like Nunes but not away wolves, it not only puts him off his game but it also brings their crowd more into it
Spot on ...... unless his memory's fading, Pep should already know can happen this from his experiences of playing Raheem Sterling in games at Liverpool, and I'm still wondering why, because he was totally ineffective ..... it takes a player with the right attitude and temperament to overcome playing in games at their former clubs, they are not games for 'bottle jobs'.

So yes., i agree that next week is NOT a game for Nunes ... it's a game for an eager to impress Khusanov, who did okay last night, and was doing nothing wrong (on the pitch) generally before he was benched last time out ... I might have said Lewis, but at the moment, I'm not all that convinced we can rely on him, and Pep might still have doubts too.

Ederson- maybe a bit early for Traff
Lewis - looked good yesterday
Stones - has to play when fit
Kush - the future
Ait Nori - a left back
Gonzales - would like to see him start ahead of Gundog
Bernado- Captain
Reijinders- cannot be left out
Bob - skill and tenacity
Haaland- obviously
Cherki - more control than the other options

Plenty of potential game changers on the bench

Can't wait

Id play Stones and Khusanov. They compliment each other's skills sets very well . And they seem to play the offside trap pretty well together.

RAN and Haaland aside, the other from the starting XI last night are more likely to be on the bench. Perhaps Marmoush is 50/50, Gonzalez 30/70.

If Gvardiol starts, Dias is the most likely to partner him.

Certs: Ederson, Gvardiol (if fit), RAN, Reijnders, Bernardo, Haaland.

Doku shouldn’t be starting at this moment in time he’s better coming on off the bench. Savinho and even Bobb offer more than he does right now in my eyes.

Yep, mine too ..... Oscar Bobb needs more first team game time, it's the only way he'll get back to being what he was ..... Savinho is very willing, but doesn't really create or score enough, that was a bad miss in front of goal from him last night ... but he probably just 'edges' Doku, who continues to frustrate if given full games ... he can however cause panic in the opposition if used as an 'impact' sub for shorter periods of time.

We could say the same about Ait-Nouri. Will they boo him and should he be left out? You have a good point, difficult decision.

Going off what I think pep will do:

Ederson

Lewis
Stones
Dias
Ait Nouri

Gundo
Bernardo
Tijani

Cherki
Doku
Haaland

0 - 2 city win

If we are going to play 2 attacking FBs one of the CBs needs to be Khusanov. We also need a very defence minded midfielder in front of the 2 CBs.

Perhaps
Khusanov Gvardiol
Stones

Looking at this game, I think it will tell us a lot about what chance we have of challenging Liverpool.

For me, Eddie needs to start to keep his confidence up:

Eddie
Nunes
Stones
Gvardiol
Nico G
Reijnders
Bernardo
Marmoush
Doku
Erling

You know it makes sense to try and get into.Peps head. It could be the only thread he reads in here to get pointers from us. ;)

Won’t tell us a lot will be October before we get a good idea of how we are looking.

First fame of the season, in. fact tge first set up to the break tell you nothing much about how the season will pan out.

liverpool could go 9 points clear and it would mean nothing in the first qtr of the season
