It’s quite an attacking side. I was hoping we’d blow them away. Who would you play to break up the transitions? It maybe does ask too much of Gonzo. I’m still expecting him to do a job like Rodri. Bernardo who I love is too light weight. Ake instead of Ait Nouri?

If we are playing with Nunes and ait-nouri as fullbacks i expect 2 deeper midfielders, especially in the absence of Rodri. Posted what I think the team will be early in the thread, think I had the same back 4 as yourself but a midfield 3 of Bernardo, Gundo and Reijnders for control and balance.

I hope he is missing at the start at least.
Imo Bernardo is a roamer who tries to be a hero in attack and defense (which is very admirable) due to his energy, stamina and experience in numerous positions.
But.
We have the possibility of Cherki as a free attacking focused roamer, which changes the whole team's mentality towards making runs and scoring goals.
Unless Bernardo is going to hold steady in CM which is fine but in that case I'd have Gundogan instead of him as he's better at that.
The time for Bernardo imo is after a game is won by the attackers. Then let him come on and annoy the opposition by being everywhere.

Nobody picking Gundo in their starting elevens. Got a feeling Pep might have something to say about that
The exciting thing about us this season is nobody has any idea who are best players are or who will play in most positions which will bring a different kind of buzz to us, but will also be hard for the opposition to work out tactically in the build up to games.

Looking forward to this. We should have much more fire in our bellies and hunger this season. A large section of the squad will be chasing their first PL title, which should help collective motivation. The squad also looks more balanced and younger.
As for starting line ups. God knows. Even with the new heads, Pep has his favourites and it would be no surprise to see Gundo, Bernie, Akanji, Ake all starting.

No idea what team he'll pick, I'd go as far as saying there's probably only 2 or 3 that are guaranteed to start
